Why We Skip Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach Water Parks

Walt Disney World isn’t just home to four amazing theme parks. They also have an incredible shopping district, Disney Springs, and two water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. These water parks are beautiful designed with theming running through the whole park. Each water park has areas for every guest, there’s a spot for younger swimmers, dare devils and those looking to relax and unwind. We’ve been to both water parks in the past, but haven’t been back since 2014. Take a look at why…

Tickets

Since we began vacationing with kids, and having to spend much more money on park passes, we have opted to purchase park passes that allow entry into one park per day. Disney World offers a variety of park passes, including park hopper passes and park hopper plus. With a park hopper plus pass you get access to the water parks included. We try to save wherever we can and choosing the base ticket package ends up saving us hundreds of dollars. Which means skipping the water parks.

Rest Day

Park days are full and exhausting. We try to mix up our visits to the parks with non-park days. We love to fill these days with visits to Disney Springs and fun at the community hall. But we also like to make sure we rest. Filling these days with visits to the water parks just creates another day of exhaustion. By skipping the water parks we give ourselves room to relax and recharge for the next day of magic.

Resort Pools

Each resort has at least one pool to spend the day at, some resorts even have a multitude of pools. Many of these pools even have water slides, some have water play areas for young kids. This can make going to a water unnecessary. Even if you’re staying at one of the resorts that has a pool without any of the extras you can hop over to a resort that does. Take a look at this list of resort with the biggest waterslides, or check out this list with resorts with the most pools. We love hopping over to other resorts to spend time at their pools. It’s given us a chance to discover different resorts that we’ve eventually chosen to stay at. We typically dine at the resort as well to fill up parts of the day. Find out all the details on pool hopping here.

Will we return to either water park in the years to come, I hope so. I love what each of the water parks has to offer. Up until now it hasn’t made since for us but I think some day in the near future we’ll don our bath suits for a day filled with water park fun. Happy Planning, Friends.
