What’s New In Disney Dining for 2019

Artist Point

Formely a Signature Restaurant, Artist Point has now evolved into a character dining experience. This restaurant is found in the Magic Kingdom resort areas‘ Wilderness Lodge. This restaurant is a set price: $55 per adult and $33 per child. One table service dining plan meal credit. The characters appearing here will be Snow White, Dwarfs and the Evil Queen. Each table will have appetizers to share, an entree to choose from and then desserts to share. There are also a couple of choices for alcoholic beverages. As of right now this restaurant is only open for dinner, the hours are from 4pm-9pm. Grab an advanced reservation to make sure you get a seating at this new dining experience.

Hollywood & Vine Characters

The Disney Junior breakfast has a new character. Vampirina is now making an appearance at this character buffet breakfast. She does not appear at Hollywood & Vine’s lunch and dinner because that features Minnie Mouse and her friends so if you want to meet Vampirina than you need to make sure you reserve for the breakfast or brunch which happens between 8am and 10:20. For full details on the restaurant click the link in the heading.

Dining Plan

The offerings for the dining plan are the same as 2018. There are still the three different dining plans: Quick Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Dining Plan. The only thing that has changed is the price for the kids plans. It’s only increased by a couple dollars a day depending on which plan you go with. The Quick-Service price has gone from $21.74 to $23.78, the Disney Dining Plan has gone from $25.75 to $27.98 and the Deluxe Dining Plan has gone from $39.99 to $43.49. If you have kids on the first two plans you won’t noticed a big difference unless you’re staying for lengthy trip or you have quite a few kids. For the full details on the dining plans click here

Alcohol at the Magic Kingdom

Alcohol is now found at each of the table service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom. It’s still hard to find at the quick-service restaurants found at this theme park but as of now you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your meal at whichever table service restaurant you decide to dine at during your day at the Magic Kingdom.

Be Our Guest Dinner

The dinner served at Be Our Guest restaurant, found in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is now a signature dining experience. Requiring dining plan guests to use 2 table service meal credits for this meal, Be Our Guest’s dinner is price fixed. Diners will choose between an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Very similar to the experience you would get at Cinderella’s Royal Table, without all the characters. Dinner is served from 4pm until park close, be sure to reserve in advanced as this is still one of the most popular places to dine at on Disney World property. Breakfast and lunch is still a quick-service dining experience.

Caribbean Beach Dining

The major renovations that have been taking place at the Caribbean Beach Resort are closer to completion and the dining area of this resort are finally open. There’s a table service restaurant, called Sebastian’s Bistro. A quick-service cafeteria style restaurant called Centertown Market. A quick-service pool side restaurant called Spyglass Grill. So if you’re staying at this popular resort you can enjoy dining during your non-park days.

Disney Springs

More and more restaurants are opening at Disney Springs. City Works will open in 2019 in the West Side area. Jaleo is another restaurant coming to the West Side area of Disney Springs to be open in 2019. The Landing neighbourhood will be completed in 2019 with the addition of Terralina Craft Italian Restaurant. Lastly, Wolfgang Puck will be back at Disney Springs with a Bar & Grill, located directly across from Planet Hollywood.

Fantasmic Dining Package

There are three restaurants to choose from for the Fantasmic Dining Package. So if you want to take advantage of this special seating area you’ll have to dine that day at one of these places: Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italino. The price depends on which restaurant you choose but each of the packages gives you a ticket for the reserved seating section of Fantasmic.

Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package

Dine at Tony’s for a special lunch and then enjoy a special viewing spot for the Festival of Fantasy Parade. This package gives diners an appetizer, entree and dessert. For adults it’s $54 each and kids it’s $19 each.

Epcot Festival Dining Packages

For each of the Epcot Festival you can purchase a dining package which will give you reserved seating for that festival’s concert. The current Epcot festival that has the most information for 2019 is the Broadway Series which starts in January. It can be assumed that the restaurants that are included in this festival will be included in the festivals throughout the year. Here they are: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Biergarten Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, The Garden Grill or Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room.

Animal Kingdom Tasting Sampler

At the Animal Kingdom you can purchase a Tasting Sampler. This gives you a $35 value card to be used at kiosks found around the theme park. There are 40 places you can redeem this special card . This tasting sampler gives you reserved seating at the second showing of Rivers of Light. You must book this ahead of time and an email will be sent to you with all the details.

Festival of Lion King Dining Package

There are two different kinds of Lion King Dining Packages. Both include a three course meal at Tiffins Restaurant, Animal Kingdom’s signature restaurant , and reserved seating at the Festival of Lion King. Tier 1 of this package also includes a special guided tour of the Savana. Reservations must be made ahead time.

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, a dinner show at Fort Wilderness feature Mickey and his friends had its last performance at the end of 2018. As they make room for a Disney Vacation Club property this dinner show will seize to exist. But the Hoop De Doo Revue is still going strong.

The Plaza Breakfast

In recent months, The Plaza restaurant at the Magic Kingdom has begun serving breakfast. This is going to continue into the New Year, although it does look like it will stop in the month of March. The Plaza also now takes reservations for their supper meal. Because of their beautiful view of the castle I would strongly recommend grabbing a reservation close to the end of the day.

That Festival of Lion King package certainly seems appealing as well as the new character dining experience at the Wilderness Lodge. There’s always lots of things to explore and discover at Walt Disney World which keeps us coming back each and every year.
