What happens to Lost Items at Disney Resorts
During our August 2019 vacation we learned what happens to lost items when you’re at one of the Disney resorts. It certainly gave us a piece of mind. We were staying at Saratoga Springs resort, our home resort as DVC members, but were at the Boardwalk Inn and Villas grabbing a drink at Belle Vue Lounge.

It was while we were here that my husband left his wallet at the bar. We were almost at the Beach Club Resort when he realized he’d left it behind. So we went back to the Lounge and by then the wallet was gone. So we headed to the front desk and they went to look through their lost and found. They confirmed my husband’s identity and gave him back his wallet. We were informed that any items that are turned in can be retrieved by the owners by simply heading to the front desk and asking for it. Of course you’ll have to confirm what the item looks like.

If you’ve returned home by the time you realize you’ve left something behind all you have to do is call the resort where you lost the item and they’ll send it to you in the mail. Another great example of the stellar service provided at a Disney resort.
This mishap reminded us that carrying your wallet around with you isn’t even necessary anymore. You can charge all things on your MagicBand. If you don’t want everything getting charged to your credit card, simply pay with cash at the front desk and your credit card won’t be charged. Saves you from bringing cash around to pay for tips or odd items.
We’re very aware this story could have gone very differently, not everyone is going to be honest and turn in every item found. So be aware of what you are carrying around with you and keep extra items to a minimum, because the less you have the less you have to lose. Happy Planning, Friends.
