Trip Chronicles: Food Goals January 2018
The Disney Dining Plan has become a must for our vacations at Walt Disney World for a couple of reasons. I love not having to worry about the cost while I am on vacation. I love having paid for it and knowing I can order whatever I want from the menu without being swayed by the cost. Another reason is because it forces me to enjoy a ridiculous amount of delicious food. Normally I try to eat lots of Mickey Ice Cream Bars, containers of popcorn and Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches. This trip I’m going to expand my horizons. I have created a list of food goals for myself. Some have been brought over from my list in September, some of those items had to be dropped from the list because there is no Halloween Party to attend. I’ve been eyeing pictures on Instagram and looked through some of the kiosk menus at the different parks and have come up with this list. Please shoot me an email if you have any must eats. Disney Parks are constantly changing their offerings and you never know when one of the bests is going to be eliminated. Here’s what I must enjoy on our trip:
Apple Crisp a la Mode. Hollywood Scoops. Hollywood Studios.
I plan on enjoying this either on our Sunday visit or Tuesday visit to Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Scoops is found in the food kiosk area across from Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and beside Rock’n’Roller Coaster so I have no fear of making my way to this area of the park both days. The description says this ice cream dessert is topped with streusel. Can’t wait to try it.
Whoopie Pie. Sweet Spells. Hollywood Studios.
I discovered these on a list of things you must eat at Hollywood Studios and with my sweet tooth I think I’ll enjoy them. With a variety of fruit kinds and chocolate kinds, I think I’ll have more of an issue trying to decide which one to try then fitting it in.
Mickey Mouse S’Mores. The Ganachery. Disney Springs.
We’re going to be eating at T-Rex for lunch on Thursday which will bring us to the Disney Springs area. I’ll have to adjust my lunch choice to fit in this snack after eating at a table service meal, which of course includes dessert. The marshmallows in these s’mores as supposed to be Vanilla Bean. Yum!
Vanilla Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. Sleepy Hollow or Plaza Ice Cream Parlour. Magic Kingdom.
It looks like this is found at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlour as well as Sleepy Hollow. Perfect! No way of missing it. This Ice Cream Sandwich is a scoop of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies. I wonder if I’ll be able to finish it myself or if we’ll share it among the four of us.
Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse. Satu”li Canteen. Animal Kingdom.
The pictures of the food here is ridiculous. I’m hoping to eat lunch here while my husband and I are switching off to ride Flights of Passage. Which means I’ll need to use a snack credit with my lunch credit to get this mousse along with my lunch.
Candy Apple. Various Locations.
These are found at a variety of locations across Walt Disney World from merchandise shops to bakeries. I will not leave Walt Disney World this year without finally having one. Which kind will be a last minute decision. Any suggestions?
Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream Sundae. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlour. Magic Kingdom.
We may not have made it to Disney last fall but the Plaza Ice Cream Parlour offers a pumpkin spice ice cream sundae all year round and you better believe I’m going to be trying it. Pumpkin pie is by far my favourite kind of pie and ice cream is my favourite kind of dessert. My expectations are high.
Dark Side Waffles. Backlot Express. Hollywood Studios.
So this is more of a side than a snack but they look so cool I don’t want to forget to order them on our trip. I think I’ll save them for our Star Wars day which is the final day of our vacation. Where we plan on watching the March of the Order, riding Star Tours, meeting the Star Wars characters and watching the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away. It’s going to be out of this world.
As you’ve probably deduced I have a major sweet tooth. Ice Cream being my favourite treat. You may be wondering why some of the most popular treats didn’t make this list, like Dole Whip and Citrus Swirl. I’ve enjoyed these items countless times and I want to try new things I haven’t enjoyed before. If you always order the same things you’ll never know what else it out there. You may be missing out on something you would enjoy so much more. Can’t wait to share my thoughts with all of you on each one of these delicious items. Happy Planning Friends.
