Dining at Disney Epcot

The Most Expensive Restaurant at Disney World’s Epcot

We’ve learned over the years that the most economic way to dine at Disney World is to use one of the dining plans offered to guests staying at Disney World resorts. On our last vacation we opted to pay out of pocket and were so disappointed with the amount of money we spent and the amount of food we received. For more on that click here. Unfortunately, the dining plans aren’t currently being offered because of the reduced capacity of all the restaurants due to COVID-19. Which means you may want to know ahead of time which restaurants are going to cost you more money. Giving you a better idea of how to budget for your vacation.

We’ve already examined which restaurants are the most expensive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. As well as Disney Springs. Today we’re looking at which restaurant at Disney’s theme park Epcot is the most expensive. Epcot has the largest variety of restaurants found at Walt Disney World. Each pavilion has at least one table service restaurant, some even have two. Which means guests have a plethora of choices.

To figure out which restaurant is the most expensive at Disney’s Epcot, we looked at each of the menus of each table service restaurant. We looked for the least expensive item on the entree list, added it to the least expensive dessert and the least expensive alcoholic beverage. These are the offerings for guests on the Disney Dining Plan. Whichever restaurant had the largest bill with these items was crowned the most expensive at Disney’s Epcot.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

This restaurant is a buffet style restaurant for breakfast and a menu style restaurant for lunch and dinner. But the meal is a flat rate no matter what you choose to order. This is a character dining experience under normal circumstances and features many of the Disney princesses, including Belle, Snow White, Aurora and Cinderella. The flat rate for a dinner meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is $63. This cost includes a table shared appetizer, entree, dessert and a fountain beverage. If you add an alcoholic beverage to your order the total will creep closer to $75. This is for one guest. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is found in the Norway pavilion.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is closed temporarily when this post is written. So we took a look at the other restaurants that top this list of most expensive restaurants found at Disney World’s Epcot:

Takumi-Tei. A signature restaurant found in the Japan pavilion. And is also temporarily closed.

Garden Grill. Another character dining experience, found in The Land. It is open and has a flat rate of $55 per guest for dinner. For more on that restaurant click here.

It surprised me that Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is the most expensive because Epcot is home to three signature dining restaurants. But none of their totals surpassed the total that Akershus runs. It may be one you want to save for when the Dining Plan is available again.
