The Best Restaurants for Kids at Disney World’s Epcot
Walt Disney World’s Epcot has the most restaurants of the four theme parks. Epcot is made up of two sections: World Showcase and Future World. In World Showcase, guests can explore pavilions done up to submerge guests in the culture represented. In Future World, guests are shown new inventions, can learn about sustaining the world and the creatures of the ocean. In all of Epcot, multiple dining experiences are found to compliment the section. Restaurants serving Mexican fare in the Mexico pavilion, serving fish and chips in the England pavilion, and restaurants serving food created right in the greenhouses of Epcot. With so many choices it can be hard to narrow down which are the best for your visit to Epcot. Today, we’re looking at your best choices if you are visiting Disney’s Epcot with Kids. These restaurants are not listed in any kind of order.
The Garden Grill is found in The Land pavilion. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many of the foods found on your plate are from The Land’s own greenhouses. What makes Garden Grill a great restaurant for kids is the All-You-Care-To-Eat offerings. Each table is giving a skillet loaded with items. It will continue to be replenished throughout the meal, being filled with the items you like best. The skillets for breakfast are filled with eggs, waffles, breakfast meats, fruit, and cinnamon rolls. For lunch and dinner, the skillets are filled with turkey and beef, mac and cheese, and seasonal vegetables. Kids can pick and choose what they like, without wasting a whole meal. Another reason this is a great restaurant for kids is the characters. The characters that attend this meal are Mickey, Chip’n’Dale and Pluto. The restaurant rotates slowly over the course of your meal. An early morning reservation will get you in to the park before it opens.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a princess character dining experience. Featuring multiple princesses, you can normally see Belle, Princess Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella. This is what makes this restaurant a great destination for kids, especially for little gals. The lunch and dinner meal is a prix fixed menu, you can select from a multitude of items on the menu and it will be brought to your table. The breakfast meal here is a buffet style, with lots of fruit selections, breakfast potatoes and meats. Waffles are available upon request. There are a couple things that makes this restaurant a great selection for kids: the characters and the location (steps away from character interaction with Elsa and Anna, and from the Frozen Ever After Ride).
The restaurant in the German Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase is Biergarten. Done up as a German village celebrating Oktoberfest, your family will enjoy watching the live performances by the featured band. The band plays traditional German instruments, and asks guests to join in by dancing throughout their set. The restaurant is a buffet style, which means your kids can load up their plates with the food they love and leave the food they don’t. Or they can try something and still go back for something else. The live entertainment and the buffet style is what makes this restaurant a great place for kids to eat at while visiting Epcot.
Sunshine Seasons. The Land. Quick-Service.
This quick-service restaurant is found deep inside The Land pavilion. The open restaurant is cafeteria style. Guests select their preference at the counter, place it on their tray and go to the next counter. The ordering area gives guests a chance to really see what’s being served, so you and your kids aren’t ordering blindly. There’s a vast array of food choices: flatbreads, burgers, salads, seafood, chicken, sandwiches. The seating area is huge, guaranteeing you’ll be able to find a table for your family. Sunshine Seasons is in the same building as Soarin’, a popular Epcot ride, making it a great spot to stop to grab a meal before or after riding the attraction. The food and the ample seating is what places this restaurant on the list.
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. Italian Pavilion. Table Service.
Pizza is a staple for so many kids. Let’s be honest, it’s a staple for most adults too. This restaurant serves Italian style pizza. The restaurant is located at the back of the pavilion, has pizza and pasta on the menu. Knowing your kids are definitely going to like what is on the menu will put your mind at ease. Guests can order an individual pizza or order one for the whole table.
Epcot is home to over 50 dining experiences. That’s an overwhelming number. But if you are visiting with kids, hopefully this helps you narrow down your choices. For more tips on visiting Disney World’s Epcot, check out these previous posts:
