The Best Animal Kingdom Restaurants for Kids
Visiting Walt Disney World is going to involve eating at one of their many restaurants. Each park and resort has countless restaurants, it can be so hard to narrow down which are your best choices to dine at. For tips on how to make those decisions click here. If you are travelling to Walt Disney World with kids, we’re talking elementary school age, preschool, toddler and baby, I’ve put together a list of your best restaurant choices at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Tusker House. Buffet Style Restaurant. Character Dining. Africa. Reservations Strongly Recommended.

Tusker House is a buffet style restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is influenced by African flavours and there are several African dishes served. But because it’s your classic buffet restaurant, they also offer your standards: corn dogs, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, breakfast meats at breakfast and traditional eggs. The character experience found here is another reason Tusker House is a great choice for visitors with kids. Over the course of your meal, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey will all come to your table. This is one of the most popular restaurants at Walt Disney World so you’ll want to make sure you make a reservation ahead of time.
Rainforest Cafe. Table Service Restaurant. Main Entrance.
Rainforest Cafe is a restaurant that can be found worldwide. And it’s the same restaurant found right at Animal Kingdom. The food on the menu is American, with chicken fingers and fries, pizzas, burgers. So you’ll have the confidence that something will be on the menu your child will like. The whole restaurant is filled with safari animatronic animals as well as several fish tanks. These animals come to life a of couple times over the course of your meal, which gives your kids a much needed distraction when waiting for their meals. The cost of eating here is very reasonable. A family of 4 can eat here for under $100.
Restaurantosaurus. Quick-Service Restaurant. DinoLand U.S.A.

This quick-service restaurant is found in DinoLand U.S.A., one of my favourite areas for kids at the Animal Kingdom because of the Boneyard. Restaurantosauras has ample dining space, with multiple eating areas inside and outside. Restaurantosauras serves up your standard fast food choices. Corn dogs, burgers and chicken fingers make up the menu. Anything ordered from the kids menu comes in a pail. Perfect for bringing over to the Boneyard to play with after your meal. Restaurantosauras has mobile ordering and is open for lunch and dinner.
Pizzafari. Quick-Service Restaurant. Discovery Island.
Your choice for pizza at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Located on the western side of Discovery Island, it’s central location makes it a fantastic spot for grabbing lunch. Pizzafari is open for lunch and dinner, and has four different pizzas on their menu: cheese, pepperoni, shrimp, and pepperoni and sausage. Even though it’s a pizza heavy restaurant, kids can order macaroni and cheese or pasta with marinara sauce. Pizzafari has five different eating areas, with large tables great for big parties. They also have a delicious Canoli Cake for dessert.
If you have more adventurous eaters, there are some other fantastic restaurants to discover at the Animal Kingdom. The above dining is targeted for pickier eaters or for those looking for a fast food fix. Check out the list below for more on dining during your trip to Animal Kingdom.
