Restaurant Review: Diamond Horseshoe
This Magic Kingdom restaurant is located in Liberty Square, making the location ideal. You don’t have to stop your park fun to get to this restaurant, it is in the heart of all the excitement. It’s an all-you-can-eat meal, which is served at either lunch or dinner. Help yourself to potatoes, corn, ribs, roast, chicken, corn bread and so much more. The dinner and lunch menu are the same. This restaurant is casual and open. You can tell that this restaurant has been jimmied to make it into what it is now. I remember going to this restaurant as a teen and seeing a performance on the stage while we ate our meal. This is not that. On the stage seats a self playing piano. Impressive, but it’s not a stage show. If you have never had this meal before you will be impressed with the amount of food and the quality. You can find the exact same meal at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, which is located at the Wilderness Lodge. I do not recommend this meal for lunch because there is so much food. You should really save it for dinner or be sure you’re not planning on eating anywhere else throughout the day. This is a great location for a rowdy crowd. The tables are large and the whole restaurant is very open. We were there with two littles ones, who were laughing and giggling like crazy. If we would have been at Cinderella’s Royal Table I would have been embarrassed but here it was totally appropriate. This meal is a flat fee, with the exception of two speciality drinks. So you can drink and eat until you’re ready to venture to the next ride, or sit and enjoy Country Bears Jamboree while you’re letting your food digest. This is not a popular restaurant. You can easily get a reservation a couple days before.
Of all the beautiful restaurants at the Magic Kingdom this is not my top choice. But it exceeds expectations for a last minute trip or reservation. I would only eat here if I was using the dining plan. The cost is high, if I was paying out of pocket I would be much happier going to Tony’s Restaurant.
Happy Planning.

This restaurant is located in Liberty Square. If you’re coming from Frontierland it is immediately after the Frontier Trading Post. If you’re entering Liberty Square from Adventureland make a right and it’s immediately after Frontier Trading Post. Coming from Fantasyland, go straight, past Liberty Tree Tavern and it is the next set of doors on your left. Coming from the castle turn left at the bell and the Diamond Horseshoe is after the Liberty Tree Tavern.
