Where to Meet Neverland Characters in Disney World
Peter Pan has never left the heart of Fantasyland. Since the opening date at the Magic Kingdom in 1971, Peter Pan’s Flight has been a popular ride for young and old. The reincarnation of these beloved characters continues from generation to generation, from the popularity of Tinker Bell in the 2000’s to the Disney Junior series Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It’s no wonder we can still find these beloved characters on Walt Disney World property.
Peter Pan
Peter Pan can be found at the exit of Fantasyland as you enter into Liberty Square. He is by himself, in front of the Neverland map. There is no FastPass for this meet and greet and you can expect a line. Check your My Disney Experience App to find out what time of day you can expect to find him at this character spot. On the day I’m writing this post he is appearing from 12pm-12:40pm, 1:00pm to 1:40pm and 3:50pm-4:30pm. So if this is a priority for you and your family the best time to catch him would be at 12pm sharp. Go to the character spot, just past the Peter Pan’s fight ride, about 15 minutes before hand and line up. It is a shaded area so it can be a good spot to cool off and eat a snack.
Tinker Bell
This mischievous pixie is found at the entrance of the Magic Kingdom, Main Street U.S.A.’s Town Square Building. Located to your immediate right when you’re entering the Magic Kingdom, head into the Town Square building, and there is an entrance to meet Mickey Mouse and an entrance to meet Tinker Bell. There is a FastPass for this meet and greet but you may not need it if you want to meet her upon entering the park. If you do decide to go the FastPass route then time it with a lunch or dinner at Tony’s Restaurant, a visit to the Harmony Barber Shop, or with the Festival of Fantasy Parade. If you find you and your party on another end of the park when your FastPass window opens, find the train and this will bring you back to Main Street U.S.A. This is the only place to see Tinker Bell face to face, get her autograph and your picture taken with her.
Captain Hook and Mr Smee
Before writing this blog post I was thinking back to meeting Mr Smee outside of Pirates of the Caribbean on my Princess Half Marathon trip. This was before FastPass character experiences and the trusty My Disney Experience. So there’s no information saying Mr Smee appears in this area on a regular occurrence but I would keep my eyes peeled for him in Adventureland and you may be surprised. You are guaranteed a meet and greet with the Captain and his trusty sidekick at the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. This special cruise launches from Disney’s Contemporary Resort and provides a beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. This could be a really fun thing to do on a non-park day.
Be sure to keep an eye out for your favourite Neverland characters in stage shows and parades throughout your visits at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. You’ll see Peter Pan take a focal point during the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Happy Planning.
