My 5 Favourite Quick-Service Restaurants at Disney World
Quick-Service restaurants are not termed fast food for a reason. Quick-service restaurants serve food to their guests quickly, many of them go beyond what would be considered Fast Food. Several of these spots don’t even have burgers and fries on their menus. And if they do, many are burgers that would be found at a steakhouse because of their quality and flavour. On our Disney World vacations we typically eat at one table service/buffet restaurant a day and one quick-service restaurant a day. So we’ve tried many quick-service restaurants at the resorts, Disney Springs, and the parks. Although I don’t know if I’ll ever get to try all of the quick-service restaurants found on property here are my current 5 favourites.
5. The Mara. Animal Kingdom Lodge. Jambo House.
The Mara is the quick-service restaurant found at Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House. It’s found on the ground level by the Uzima pool. To gain access to the restaurant you need to leave the main building by taking the elevators to the ground floor and then walk outside. What places The Mara on my top 5 list of quick-service restaurants is its desserts. The Mara has desserts here you can’t find anywhere else on property, which has guests going out of their way to get to this quick-service restaurant. On our Babymoon back in 2018 we came here for Zebra domes, they were on my snack goal list for that trip. And they were so worth the extra trip. I only wished I had brought a cooler with me to keep them from melting in the heat. The Mara is a cafeteria style restaurant, that gives guests choices. There’s a flatbread station, sandwich station, grill station. Lots of variety.
PizzeRizzo is a pizza spot in Hollywood Studios located in the Grand Avenue area of the park. One of the reasons I love this restaurant is for its ample seating. There are two floors, with a patio on both floors. You can guarantee that you’ll have a place to sit when you choose to eat here. I also love that it’s an easy menu, I know that they’ll be something that each of our family members will eat. The pizzas come in a personal size that isn’t too large, so you don’t feel like you waste any of your meal. The dough is soft and the cheese is stringy, just the way I like it. Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort found in the Magic Kingdom resort area. It’s home to two quick-service restaurants, Roaring Fork and Geyser’s Point Bar & Grill. Geyser’s Point Bar & Grill makes this list for its Bison Bacon Cheeseburger, Grilled Portobello Salad with Salmon, waffle fries and delicious beer. The last time we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge we ate here several times, we couldn’t get enough of it. The waffle fries are crispy, the burger was juicy and bun had an incredible freshness. You can choose to dine inside or grab your meal from their outdoor counter and enjoy your meal on one of the provided tables or bring it back to your room. This quick-service restaurant is found in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. It’s home to delicious Mexican fare. The menu is full of fajitas, nachos, rice bowls. There’s also a toppings bar so you can load up your entrees with all the fixings you want. What places this restaurant on my 5 favourite list is the food, because I love every entree that’s listed on this menu. There’s also a lot of places to sit. There’s several rooms that make up the restaurant with tables and chairs that are easily moved around. So you don’t have to wander around with your tray for too long trying to find a spot to eat your meal. For a full review of the restaurant click here.
1.Sunshine Seasons. Epcot. The Land.
I have walked by this restaurant so many times while visiting Disney World but we never managed to eat here until last January. Sunshine Seasons is an extensive cafeteria style restaurant found The Land pavilion, the same building hosting Soarin and Living with the Land. Most Epcot days we get this pavilion done first thing, to avoid the long lines for Soarin’ later in the day. But on our last trip we did 2 Epcot days and found ourselves in this area around noon time and decided to finally give this quick-service restaurant a try. Boy, we had been missing out. There are multiple sections offering salads and soups, slow-roasted pork, oak-fired rotisserie chicken, thai cashew chicken, paninis. This is a far cry from your typical fast food choices. One of my favourite parts about this restaurant is many of the ingredients used come straight from The Land’s very own greenhouses.
So there you have it my friends. My 5 favourite quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World. There are so many restaurants to explore and discover during your Disney World vacation. Do yourself a favour and do the research ahead of time so you can make sure you’re placing yourself at your favourite places.
