June Vacationers
There is so much to celebrate in June. Many students are graduating from programs, many weddings are taking place, many anniversaries to be acknowledged. So why not celebrate at the most magical place on earth. The month of June falls into two different categories on the DVC points chart. June 1st-10th is in the Dream Season, which is the middle of the road. So expect wait times to be high and the parks to be busy. June 11th-30th is in the Magic Season, the second busiest time of the year. So again, the wait times will be long and the crowds will be large. Be sure to check out the special events and activities happening at Walt Disney World. They may enhance your vacation, so check out the dates you’re planning on visiting.
June 1st-10th
Incredible Tomorrowland Expo.
In preparation for the release of Incredibles 2, Tomorrowland will be hosting the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo. Found in the heart of Tomorrowland, this area will be decked out in Incredible theme decor, Incredibles music will be playing through the speakers and the characters will be milling through the crowd. Guests can meet and greet with four of the Incredible characters: Mr Incredible, Mrs Incredible, Frozone and Edna Mode. The Super Party Time stage show will have you dancing with your favourite supers and creating memories to last a lifetime. The expo takes place at Rocket Tower Plaza in Tomorrowland, check the daily time schedule when you enter the park for specific times on the day of your visit.
Animal Kingdom Extra Magic Hours.
Every single day of June, Animal Kingdom will be open to guests of Walt Disney World resort hotels at 8am. This isn’t just as far as Discovery Island, which is the new normal, this is the whole park. Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort have entry into all of Animal Kingdom at 8am. An hour before other guests. Giving you access to Pandora and the ever popular Flights of Passage and Na’vi River Passage.
June 7th-10th
Diamond 9 Sun Classic Summer Showcase.
Teams from all over the country will travel to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to competing in this competition. With teams 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under participating. These teams are considered premier so you should expect the games to be entertaining.
June 9th- June 10th
The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! Concert Series
In Epcot, Star Lord and Gamora will hosting a concert series featuring songs from Star-Lord’s mixtapes. “Hooked on a Feeling”, “Go All the Way” and “Spirit in the Sky” are sure to be among them. Specific times and location have yet to be released.

This junior girls volleyball championship hosts girls teams from across the country. Team ages range from 10 and under to 18 and under. You may even see your home state represented.

Disney H20 Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
From 8pm to 11pm, your favourite characters from Toy Story will be hosting a party at Typhoon Lagoon. Rex is said to be your master of ceremonies, tunes will be blasting and the park will be a glow. Special food and drink offerings will be available to party goers and there will be a special adults only area. With the late open time of this special event, you could sneak this event after a day at the Animal Kingdom. Especially with its close proximity. Prices for this special event at $55 per adult and $50 per child. DVC members receive at 6 dollar discount.
June 23rd-28th
AAU Wrestling Scholastic Duals
This open event is open to your boys. Is one of the members of your travel party a wrestler? Here’s a fantastic opportunity for them to participate and compete in a high quality event with different athletes. Different weight classes will be represented.
June 24th-30th
AAU Summer Baseball
Seems a little early for a championship but AAU Summer baseball will be hosting its championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the end of June. Boys teams ranging from 9 and under to 14 and under will be playing.
June 30th
Toy Story Land Opens.
The opening of Toy Story Land. You can expect there will be soft openings the week leading up to June 30th, so you may see increased traffic at Hollywood Studios, including media representatives. Brought there to promote this new area of Hollywood Studios. If you’re not planning on doing every single park during this vacation, you may want to skip Hollywood Studios if you’re vacationing from June 25th-30th. You may find yourself in the middle of mass chaos. Save this for your next visit. When you could can discover all the areas of Toy Story Land for yourself instead of behind a cue of other guests.
June is sure to be a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World. Take advantage of that extra Animal Kingdom hour to ride the most popular attractions.
