How Genie + is Different than FastPass +
Genie + is the new service being offered to guests of Walt Disney World. This service allows guests to have a shorter wait time for the attractions found at the four theme parks. Genie + is a new take on what previously was known as FastPass, FastPass +. Guests who choose to participate in this program will have shorter wait times than guests using the regular cue for lines. Cost

Genie + has a layer of cost to it, as opposed to FastPass+ which was a free service offered to any guest visiting Disney World. The base offering is FREE, this is termed Genie Service. This is supposed to help guests map out their day, offering suggestions on where to go and when based on preferences selected. Genie + is a paid service that gives guests access to multiple lightning lanes.
Day Of VS Months in Advanced

With FastPass + guests had to plan their choices months in advanced. Guests staying at a Disney World resort were able to book their FastPasses up to 60 days before, anyone else was able to book 30 days before. Genie + can only be selected the morning of.
More Rides

Genie + allows you to select multiple attractions, you won’t be limited to only 3.
Doesn’t Apply to All Attractions

There are several attractions that do not fall under this paid service. Guests need to make an additional purchase to buy access to the more popular Lightning Lanes. And of course these are the attractions guests want to most access to. These are Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train, Space Mountain, Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, Avatar Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest.
More Complex

The new system in undoubtedly more complex, it seems to have more advantageous than FastPass + but only once you’ve figured out how to use it. Guests preparing for vacations should spend sometime on youtube watching others book and modify their Genie + plans. That way they’ll be prepared for their own experience.
