A Detailed Look at Hollywood Blvd in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios is one of the four theme parks found at Walt Disney World. It’s home to fantastic stage shows, character experiences and delicious dining. There are now 10 areas to this park: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, Pixar Place, Echo Lake, Grand Avenue, Commissary Lane, Animation Courtyard, Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd. Today’s post is going to focus on Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood Blvd is your entrance into Hollywood Studios. It’s lined with shops and leads up to the Chinese Theatre. But don’t just pass through this section as you enter and exit the park, make time in your day to explore all Hollywood Blvd has to offer. Shopping
Crossroads of the World
As you enter Hollywood Studios this open air shop is there to greet you. It has plenty of your necessities for the day. Like sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. Or pick up a pair of Mickey Ears or a plush toy. This store is open from park open until park close.
Mickey’s of Hollywood Shop
Located on the southern side of the street is Mickey’s Hollywood Shop. Here you’ll find apparel, luggage, a great selection of jewelry. As you would guess it’s going to be heavily Mickey, Minnie and the original gang based. Sweaters, shirts, apparel galore. This is also your stop for MagicBands, if you’re looking to purchase one. Open from park open until park close.
Keystone Clothiers
This is another clothing store located just up from Mickey’s Hollywood Shop. Keystone Clothiers is going to be your Disney parks wear meets everyday wear. These pieces of clothing have just a hint of Disney magic in them. There’s also a nice selection of ties and socks. You can also expect to find pieces of clothing here to coincide with the current season or promotion. During the opening of Galaxy’s Edge for example there was a lot of Star Wars clothing. Over Halloween you’ll find some Jack Skellington pieces. Open from park open until park close.
Celebrity 5 & 10
This shop is on the northern side of Hollywood Blvd. Celebrity 5 & 10 is home to all things home wares: aprons, mugs, coasters, glasswares, plates, anything imaginable. We’ve found some great items here. We have a sweet set of espresso cups that don’t really get used but are sweet on display. Celebrity 5 & 10 is open from park open until park close.
Oscar Super Service
This little shop looks like a service station. It’s located at the entrance of the park on your direct right. It’s here that you can rent strollers and wheelchairs for the day. But it’s also here that you can purchase pens, pencils, autograph books, and ears. I would only stop here if you need to because the items found here can be found elsewhere.
Movieland Memorabilia
Located on your direct right when entering Hollywood Studios is Movieland Memorabilia. The perfect location to grab that last thing before leaving the park or grabbing that hat you want to wear for your park day. Pick up a Goofy Hat, Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat, Pluto Hat. Or grab a plush Mickey, Minnie or Donald. They also have a great selection of pins for you pin traders out there.
Dining
Hollywood Brown Derby
The Signature restaurant found at Hollywood Studios is the Hollywood Brown Derby. Open for lunch and dinner, this signature restaurant has a different menu for each of its seatings. A must any time we visit is the Cobb salad. Be sure to get the advice of your server because they’ll know what has been changed or been recently added and what’s the best on the menu. This restaurant is located on Hollywood Blvd. before you enter into Animation Courtyard. The ambiance is that of an old Hollywood restaurant with pictures on the wall of stars that have come and gone. But what makes this restaurant the signature restaurant it is is the food and the service. Our two times here we had the same server who went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable meal. Open from 12pm to 2:55pm for lunch and 3:30pm to 8pm for dinner.
Trolley Car Cafe
The Starbucks Coffee Hollywood Studios location is the Trolley Car Cafe. Trolley Car Cafe is located beside Celebrity 5 & 10 on Hollywood Blvd. Here you’ll find all your Starbucks favourites along with some other special delicacies unique to Hollywood Studios. Trolley Car Cafe is open from park open until park close.
Entertainment
Citizens of Hollywood
A group of entertainers gather along Hollywood Blvd throughout the day to entertain by standers. During these, what appear to be impromptu, performances guests get pulled in from the streets to become involved in the show. They are humorous additions to your day that you’ll what to stop and enjoy.
Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Come and see your favourite Star Wars characters in front of your very eyes. Multiple times a day, multiple Star Wars characters grace the stage to give short performances nodding to their Star Wars tale. You’ll see Darth Vader, C3P0, R2D2, Rey, BB-8, Chewbacca, and more. The stage show happens approximately 7 times a day. The times differ so check your daily times guide when you arrive at the park. I suggest watching this first thing before it gets hot. The stage show is not sheltered and during the 15 minute performance you will have no relief from the heat.
Wonderful World of Animation
Place yourself in front of the Chinese Theatre at the end of the park day to see highlights of many Disney and Pixar films. You’ll see bits and pieces from movies long past and brand new. You’ll most certainly be singing along. Check your daily times guide for the performance time on the day of your visit.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks
Another nighttime show happening at the end of Hollywood Blvd is the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks. Feel yourself immersed in your favourite Star Wars films as the sights and sounds of your favourite Star Wars tales surround you. Parts of all the different films from all the different sagas are apart of this incredible nighttime entertainment. The time differs each time of year so check your times guide the day you arrive at the park.
