Hidden Gem: Grand Floridian Magical Moment
Every trip we take to Walt Disney World I am reminded why we keep going back. Each vacation is different. There are always new rides, a new stage show or a new restaurant to try. They also change when you bring kids, or go as a couple. When you are a returning visitor it takes the pressure off. You can really enjoy some of things that are going on beyond the 4 parks. Some of these things don’t even have a cost and can be the most memorable experiences of your trip.
On our last trip we stumbled upon a one of a kind experience at the Grand Floridian. Each weekday at 3:35pm children, ages 3-12, are invited to meet at the M. Mouse Mercantile (which is located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian, left before the monorail entrance).
These children are then paraded along the second floor to the entrance of Citricos and Victoria and Albert’s. They invite the children to face the photographer and as they are posing for their photograph Cinderella and Prince Charming appear behind them. The band on the second floor begins to play and the children follow Cinderella and Prince Charming down the grand staircase to the lobby. Cinderella and Prince Charming share a waltz before being escorted to 1900 Park Fare. There is absolutely no cost to this experience and it is priceless. You don’t get to have a one on one with Cinderella but the kids get to see her and Prince Charming lovingly share a dance.
This is a must do for any young girl. I enjoyed it as much as my young daughter. To get to this experience take a Grand Floridian transportation bus from any of the 4 parks, 2 water parks or Disney Springs. Or take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and take the monorail to the Grand Floridian. The monorail entrance to the Grand Floridian is on the 2nd floor, which is where this event begins. You can tail end this experience with a dinner at 1900 Park Fare and make it a true Cinderella afternoon.
Don’t miss this unforgettable experience.
