Favourite 2020 Disney World Snacks
Eating during our Disney World vacations has become another item that I love to plan out. With so many little spots found at each of the four theme parks, all the resorts and Disney Springs, I scour the internet in advance of our trip to decide which snacks I want to get throughout the course of our vacation. Some are salty and others are sweet. Some are big enough to be a meal and others are teeny tiny. The list I put together for our Disney vacation last month is post here. To my surprise I got many of the items on my list. Each time I put together one of these lists I never get them all. Whether it’s because of timing with meals or that the location no longer carries the item I never get EVERYTHING I plan on trying. This year I got 3 out of the 5 snacks I had on my list, and I added a few more along the way. Take a look at my choices and find out if you should add them to your Disney World snack list.
Tartes du Chocolate. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Epcot.

I have always wanted to grab something from this delightful bakery in the France pavilion. It’s looked deep in the pavilion, at the very back. All the pastries are for display and I found it so difficult to choose. I finally opted for this Chocolate Tart and was thrilled with my choice. It was light and rich. Perfect for this chocolate fan.
Elephant Ear Pastry. Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery. Animal Kingdom.

This was the perfect item for a mid-morning snack. The grabbed this guy from a counter service spot in Africa, you walk by it on your way towards the Kilimanjaro Safari. The pastry was light, crispy and sugary. And surprisingly the chocolate didn’t melt in the heat. I expected it to be all over my face as I ate but it stayed firm.
Eight Spoon Cafe. Baked Mac & Cheese Pulled Pork. Animal Kingdom

This was exactly what I had been hoping for. A light snack style lunch punched flavour. Eight Spoon Cafe is found at Animal Kingdom’s Discovery Island. They have a couple of choices for this snack style mac and cheese. It comes with pulled pork, shrimp or plain. But I would go for this every time. Unfortunately I had to share more than I would have liked. Next time I’ll get two.
Fraises Tart. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Epcot.

We went to Epcot twice on this vacation which meant two visits to the Boulangerie Patisserie, this time in the morning along with an espresso. Which meant a fruit choice was in order. I went for the signature Fraise Tart and surprisingly it was easy to eat. The cream was light and flavourful. It’s a very simple but tasty treat. One of the great things about this spot is it opens at 9am, long before most of World Showcase is open. So head here in the morning to beat the crowds.
Sleepy Hollow. Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich. Magic Kingdom.

I decided to forgot the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich and instead grabbed a Mickey Waffle with Strawberries on it. I was worried about getting the sandwich all over myself but later wished I had stuck with my plan. This waffle was good but I found it wasn’t as filling as I was expecting it to be. So after sharing it with my smallest child I still found myself hungry for more. Lesson learned. Stick with the original plan.
Kahlua and Baileys Milk Shake. Dockside Diner. Hollywood Studios.

We did not drink as much on this vacation as we would have liked. We totally unexpected how much we’d have to keep our wits about ourselves with 3 kids. But we did manage to grab this milkshake at the Dockside Diner. It was delicious. It also wasn’t very strong tasting but could certainly get you into trouble. Just make sure to bring your own steel straw. The paper straw really ruins the milkshake.
The two items on this list that I would strongly recommend, and will definitely have again, are my two items from Animal Kingdom. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and next time I would try the shrimp option. The elephant ear pastry could only have been made more perfect with a great big cup of coffee. I love this tradition of putting together a list of items to seek out and enjoy during our trips. It’s allowed me to eat at places I’ve walked by but never stopped at. I can’t wait to see what gets added on our next trip. For my list from our 2018 vacation click here. Happy Planning, Friends.
