Where to Meet Donald Duck #1 at Disney World
There are a handful of characters that you can find at every Disney theme park: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy are among them. Donald Duck, #1, can also be found at each Disney theme park as well as a couple of resort restaurants. So you’ll definitely be able to catch a pic with this famous duck during your Disney vacation or meet him at each spot. Each character meeting spot Donald is wearing a different costume, always dressed for the occasion. Take a look at where you’ll be able to add Donald’s signature to your autograph book.
Magic Kingdom
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Pete’s Silly Sideshow is found in Storybook Circus, in Fantasyland. Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a great big circus tent, where guests can wait in line to either meet Minnie and Daisy or Donald and Goofy. Be careful because Donald is an astounding snake charmer and may charm you into thinking he’s your favourite character. Following this meet and greet you’ll head into my favourite shop in all of Walt Disney World: Big Top Souvenirs. Pete’s Silly Sideshow is open from 10am until 7:30pm and FastPass + is not available.
Epcot
Mexico
In Epcot, you can meet Donald Duck straight from Three Caballeros. Wearing a sombrero and a sarape, Donald is found in Mexico as you’re exiting Mexico and entering into Norway. The character spot is tucked to the side so be sure not to miss it. Donald only appears here in the afternoon, just after lunch time and until dinner time.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Blvd
From 8:15am until 11:45 and then 12:45 until 3:15 you’ll be able to meet Donald Duck in his classic sailors outfit just past the entrance of Hollywood Studios. It’s not a very busy spot because most people want to just get into the park. So it’s a great location to meet Donald, especially since he’s in that famous attire.
Head to this character buffet restaurant at Hollywood Studios for lunch or dinner if you want to meet Donald Duck. At this restaurant Donald and all the rest of the gang are dressed in their seasonal best. Around Christmas they’re dressed up in Christmas colours, in the Fall they’re dressed in costumes for Halloween, in the Spring they’re dressed in spring floral patterns and colours, and lastly for the summer they’re ready to hit the beach. You can dine here for lunch or dinner to meet Donald. Hollywood & Vine also serves breakfast but at this meal time you’ll meet Disney Junior characters. Make sure to get an advanced dining reservation for this dining location because it’s popular and has minimal seating times.
Animal Kingdom
Tusker House
Tusker House serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, buffet-style. Here you’ll meet Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Daisy. The food is African style, since the restaurant is found in Animal Kingdom’s Africa. But at any meal time you can find some American fare for those picky eaters. During the meal all the characters will come around to the tables, the cast members will make sure you don’t miss any. Tusker House is open from 8am until 8:30pm which means you can get into the park early with an early breakfast reservation.
DinoLand U.S.A – Donald’s Dino-Bash
In DinoLand U.S.A. you can meet Donald where he is the host for his very own Dino-Bash. He’s dressed in a dinner jacket and a sash. Here you can also meet Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, Chip n Dale. The Dino-Bash goes on from 10am until 2:20 and then 2:30 until 5:30. So if you find yourself in DinoLand U.S.A. anytime during the day you’ll be able to fit in this meet and greet.
Resorts
Contemporary Resort – Chef Mickey’s
The Contemporary is found just around the corner from the Magic Kingdom and is home to Chef Mickey’s. Chef Mickey’s is a character buffet style restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is from 7am until 11:15am, brunch is from 11:30am until 2:55pm and supper from 5pm until 9:30pm. It’s a fantastic place to grab a meal, it only costs 1 table service meal credit for those on the dining plan. You get to meet the main five characters: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck. This is definitely one of the most popular reservations to get so make sure to get them as soon as you can for your Disney vacation. If you can’t get one, there are always last minute reservation cancellations so you may get one a couple days before, that’s how we got our free meal there. The whole crew is dressed as chefs. A must do for any one.
Beach Club Resort – Cape May Cafe
The other resort dinning experience where you can meet Donald is at the Beach Club’s Cape May Cafe. Cape May only has characters at their breakfast seating so don’t opt for the seafood dinner buffet if you’re hoping to meet Donald in his swimming gear. This restaurant is located off of the Beach Club lobby and serves up all your favourite breakfast fares. Beach Club resort is found in the Crescent Lake resort area and is accessible by pathway from Hollywood Studios and Epcot. As well as boat from both of these theme parks, making it fairly accessible for all Disney guests.
Make the most out of these photo ops by getting your kids to wear their favourite Donald gear. His reaction will be priceless and will make for a great story to relive again and again.
