Christmas List
Friends, Christmas is now a month away. We are in the Christmas season in our household. Being Canadians we celebrate an early Thanksgiving and therefore our family starts taking out the Christmas decorations, books, and music after Remembrance Day. I love it! Christmas is my favourite. Disney toys are generally the gifts we buy for our kids, and request Santa to provide as well. We try to give toys that will last, have good quality and that they will enjoy throughout the different phases and ages. Any of these things are gifts I would love to give our kids either this year or years to come. With Good Friday deals, now’s the time to buy friends. Merry Christmas!
Lego
Any kind of Lego or Duplo set has been under our tree for the last number of years. I love buying the sets because then you have a project to do together as a family. Once you’ve done it and displayed it for a period of time you have a bunch of new pieces to add to your collection plus new characters. It also helps with keeping the characters prevalent in their minds for that next trip.
Melissa and Doug
Melissa and Doug is a brand of children toys that are generally wooden. With the exception of a few plush pieces. This company makes a line of their toys for Disney. We have a variety of these products in our home and they are still some of our favourites. They are great building blocks in your child’s toy box. With items to assist imaginative play, learning letters and numbers and shapes and sizes. You can find some of these items at Walmart, Disney Store or Target.
Star Wars Action Figures
Christmas can be hard for picking toys for boys I find. Especially for outdoor boys like ours. I want there to be a least one thing under the tree that they can play with now and not have to wait for the warm weather to enjoy. Star Wars Action Figures are the answer. Great for little boys with older sisters who want to interact with the dolls but want something to call their own. There’s one for whichever character your little loves. Darth Vader, Stormtroppers, Hans Solo, or Kylo Ren.
Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Bullseye
Toy Story has now been around for over 20 years. With another movie currently being worked on, you can be sure that these characters are going to continue to be a staple in the Pixar/Disney family. With the variety of characters you can make it a Toy Story Christmas by having a few family members purchase different members of the cast to complete your child’s collection. Or start off with one, anticipating purchasing another one for an upcoming birthday or next years Christmas.
Disney Princess Barbie
When you buy a Disney Princess Barbie you get a Barbie that represents your child’s favourite character but you also end up with another outfit for the other Barbies in the collection. These are easy gifts to allocate to grandparents because they are normally not all that expensive and are easy to find. With so many options your bound to be able to ask for one your child doesn’t already own.
Little Golden Books
No Christmas is complete without some new books in my books. Little Golden Books has whatever you are looking for. Whether it’s an old classic or a new tale, they have the Disney tale you want to share with your family. These are found in every book store, but for the best selection check out your favourite bookstores website.
Monorail Set
Anyone else dreamed of owning a monorail set? It has been on our list for years. Imagining getting it in stages as something the family can enjoy for years to come. The pieces are very little, making it better suited for families with older kids. There are now three sets you can buy. One is the Walt Disney World Monorail, one is the contemporary and one is the Disneyland Monorail. These can be found online at the Disney store website, at the store and at Disney parks.
Little People
If you have a younger child, toddler age, these are the ideal toys for you. This years princess castle is called the Magical Wand Palace. Our castle from Christmas 2014 is still played with on a daily basis. The piece are soft, great for that child who still tends to put things in their mouth. The interactive music and lights will give your child lots to continue to discover. You can find this at your local toy store, Walmart and Target.
Remote Controlled BB-8
There are a variety of these on the market. Some hover around 40 dollars where as other cost as much as 150 dollars. The cost is going to be indicative of the quality and what it can do. It also will decide if it’s an additional gift or THE gift. Either way it’s an awesome toy to receive no matter the age.
Lightsaber
These are so reasonably priced, they are a perfect gift for nephew or godson. Whether they identify as a Jedi or a Sith lord, there’s an option for either.
Micro Doll Play Set
Found at the Disney Store, I saw these little play sets preparing for this post and couldn’t leave them out. They remind me of my polly pockets. Small and perfect for taking on road trips or family vacations. The pieces are small, appropriate for children ages 3-9. Great for once they move out of that Little People stage. They come in Tangled, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast and 101 Dalmatians. These can also be found on Amazon.
