Where to Meet Minnie Mouse at Disney World
As I was preparing this post I was thinking it may be skewed to a small group of people with young girls wanting to meet Minnie Mouse, but then I thought of a dear friend whose son loves Minnie Mouse. I realized that Minnie isn’t necessarily just for girls, she’s a favourite of many boys as well. One of the great things about meet and greets with Minnie at Walt Disney World is she is always grouped in with other characters. So you can get more than one character off your must meet list. Now meeting Minnie Mouse does not guarantee that you’ll meet Mickey. In two instances you’ll be able to meet Minnie and some other characters but not Mickey Mouse.
Magic Kingdom
Pete’s Silly Sideshow. Fantasyland.
Found in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland. The meet and greet with Minnie Mouse is in a big circus tent and she is found next to Daisy Duck. Minnie is dressed as though she is entertaining crowds with her dogs and their tricks. There’s no FastPass for this location so you may have to wait a while, but the location is found inside giving you great relief from the sun or rain.
Epcot
Meet Minnie Mouse in Future World along with Mickey and Goofy. This is the only place you will be able to meet Minnie Mouse wearing her classic red and white polka dot dress. Dress your little in their favourite Minnie or Mickey shirt to get a memorable snapshot. You can easily walk right by this character spot. Head underneath Spaceship Earth, the big white ball that acts as EPCOT’s focal point, and approach the fountain. On your right hand side are two buildings, the first is a shop called Art of Disney and the second is where you meet Minnie.
Hollywood Studios
Get your picture taken with Minnie Mouse dressed in a gown ready to make her debut. At this meet and greet, located at Commissary Lane, you will meet Minnie and Mickey. This location does not have a fastpass. Hollywood Studios has minimal amounts of things to do at this time, making this character spot more popular than EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom. To get to Commissary Lane approach the Chinese Theatre from the entrance and then head left. You will see billboards of ABC studios TV shows and there it will appear.
Head to Hollywood & Vine, at Hollywood Studios, for a buffet style character dining experience featuring Minnie Mouse and the whole gang. This meal features Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. Minnie’s Seasonal Dining is lunch and supper. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the characters. You will get your picture taken with them, autograph book signed and participate in activities. Lunch is offered from 11:00am-1:45pm and supper is available from 3:00pm-7:30pm. This restaurant is located off of Hollywood Boulevard. Make your first left and the restaurant is on your left. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.
Animal Kingdom
Meet Minnie Mouse in her safari gear at the heart of the Animal Kingdom. This meet and greet location is on Discovery Island directly before the bridge to Asia. This location does have a Fastpass. If this is the only place you’ll have an opportunity to meet Minnie then I would get this reservation to ensure you don’t waste precious park time meeting her. But with so many things to spend your fastpass on at the Animal Kingdom, the new Pandora- The World of Avator to name one, I would pass this one. On your way to It’s Tough to be a Bug or if you’re going to the Yak & Yeti Restaurant stop by and see what the wait time is like. If it’s worth it stop in, if not plan to meet Minnie at one of the other places mentioned. On our last vacation, I brought the kids here at 9am park open while my husband was on Avatar – Flights of Passage. Divide and conquer.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Meet Minnie Mouse while eating a great meal at Chef Mickey’s. At this all you care to enjoy buffet restaurant you will meet Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Minnie. Minnie wears her classic red and white polka dot dress with an apron on top and yellow shoes. This is a great chance to get many meet and greets done. It also doesn’t require park admissions. This restaurant is open at 7:00am, so it can be a great way to start your day. One trip we had a 7:15 reservation. We started our day at Chef Mickey’s and then pool hopped to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Head to the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort, check in and wait for your table. To get to the restaurant take transportation to the Magic Kingdom and then take the resort monorail getting out at the first stop.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Head to this scenic part of Walt Disney World, the Epcot Resorts, for a buffet-style breakfast. This character dining is only offered during the breakfast meal. Meet Minnie Mouse along with Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy. They are all dressed for a day at the beach. This restaurant lacks numbers and uniqueness. At Chef Mickey’s and Hollywood & Vine there’s a little song and dance routine for the kids, plus they both offer more characters. It is less popular than Chef Mickey’s, so you’ll be able to get a reservation whether you’re booking last minute or planning ahead of time. With the restaurant opening at 7:30am it could be a good way to start your day before heading to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. To get to this restaurant take a bus to Hollywood Studios and then walk or take the boat to the Beach Club resort. Or you can take a Beach Club bus from any of the four parks. Don’t forget this restaurant only has character dining for breakfast.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
Topolino’s Terrace
At Disney World’s newest resort you’ll find a rooftop restaurant that features a character breakfast. This breakfast is home to Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. They are dressed in their Parisian attire to match with the French theme. This restaurant does offer dinner but this does not include the characters so be sure to book the breakfast if you’re hoping to meet Minnie Mouse.
Personal Touch:
Whether you want to meet Minnie Mouse once or several times on your trip you have many opportunities. Personally, I like to do as many character meetings at restaurants. You get two things done at once, you get to eat and you get to meet some characters. Out of all the restaurants you can meet Minnie Mouse, Chef Mickey’s would be my favourite. You get five characters off your list, the meal is good and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. If you plan on doing the Quick-Service Dining Plan or don’t want to eat at any table-service restaurants then my next choice would be the spot in EPCOT. It’s not very popular, not chaotic, and you see Minnie in her classic costume.
Happy Planning.
