Dining at Disney

Buffet Restaurants VS All-You-Care-To-Eat Restaurants

Buffet restaurants at Disney World are some of the most popular on property. But there’s also another great option, restaurants that have All-You-Care-To-Eat meals. There are 11 buffet restaurants and 6 all-you-care-to-eat restaurants. Here are a few differences between these two styles of restaurants:

The buffet style restaurants are popular. Many of them are on our list of 9 most popular restaurants. Making it difficult to get reservations for these restaurants. The All-You-Care-To-Eat restaurants are less popular so you’re more likely to get a reservation without having to have the extra effort of being ready at 9am 180 days ahead of time *now 60 days ahead of time, due to COVID-19 adjustments*. So if you’re heading down for  a last minute trip or if you are heading down during a busier time of year and can’t get those coveted buffet reservations, all-you-care-to-eat restaurants may be the way to go.

Staying Seated

At an all-you-care-to-eat restaurant you are going to be served at your table. At a buffet restaurant you have to go up to the buffet and grab your food. If you are solo parenting during your vacation then this can be tricky or if you have someone in your party with mobility issues this can also add extra difficulty. Therefore choosing an all-you-care-to-eat restaurant may suit your needs better. You’re still getting ridiculous amounts of food, just without the hassle.

Generally speaking the cuisine at all the buffet restaurant are similar if not the same. You can expect carved meats, soup, fish, greek salad, an ice cream bar, and so on. For breakfast you’ll see omelette stations, bacon, Mickey waffles, fresh fruit. At an all-you-care-to-eat restaurant you’ll find different foods. At ‘Ohana you’re going to enjoy Polynesian cuisine, at Whispering Canyon Cafe you can expect Western fare, at Liberty Tree Tavern you’ll have a Thanksgiving feast.

You’re going to see a similar price for both of these styles restaurants. There are definitely more buffet restaurants than all-you-care-to-eat restaurants. And they are different so be sure you know what style you are booking before you make your reservations.
