A Birthday at Walt Disney World

Many guests plan their trips around something in particular. Maybe it’s a break from school, maybe it’s a holiday, maybe it’s an anniversary or maybe it’s a birthday. When celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World there are a few way to make the occasion extra special. Some are free of charge and others will require extra cash.

  1. Dining Experience

Either on the day or around the day you may be eating a meal at one of the many Walt Disney World restaurants. If you inform the restaurant of the occasion they’ll be sure that your guest is celebrated. You can do this ahead of time by calling dining reservations at (407) 939-4356 and asking them to write the occasion on your reservation. You can also do this when you arrive at your Disney Resort and inform your concierge service or the front desk. They’ll be sure to add it to your specific reservation. When you celebrate a birthday at a restaurant the guest being celebrated receives a complimentary dessert with a candle. At certain restaurants you can expect some fanfare but most of the other restaurants will only give you the dessert. For extra fanfare choose from the restaurants that already offer some kind of entertainment with their service. Such as: Whispering Canyon Cafe, 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios, Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom or Disney Springs, T-Rex Restaurant at Disney Springs.

2. A Card from Mickey Mouse

When you check into your hotel, let them know you have a guest celebrating a birthday and on which day. They’ll be sure to let Mickey know so he can sign a birthday card and have it waiting in your room with some balloons. This is free of charge and can be a very special way for one of your guests to feel loved and celebrated.

3. Birthday Pin

One of the easiest ways to make your birthday guest feel celebrated is by picking up a Birthday Pin. These pins are available at your resort’s lobby or at guest services at the four theme parks. This will let everyone know it’s their birthday. Characters will remark on it. Cast Members will wish them happy birthday. They will feel like the day is all about them.

4. Disney Floral & Gifts

A part of the Walt Disney World resort is Disney Floral & Gifts. You can order and purchase specific baskets with gifts, balloons, special notes from special characters and more. Depending on the package your purchase you could have loads of party decorations and themed favours or a tiara, wand and special jewelry. All this to make your birthday guest feel celebrated. You can order these ahead of time here or talk to your concierge or front desk at your Disney resort.

5. Cake

Want a birthday cake to mark the occasion? You can order one and have it delivered to the Disney restaurant of your choice or to the room of your Disney resort. A cake delivery to a Disney restaurant is $35 and should be able to serve 4 to 6 guests. These cakes are only available for certain restaurants so be sure to check when making your reservation. Call (407) WDW-DINE to add a cake your reservation.

On our last vacation we celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday. Take a look at how we spent her special day for ideas. Happy Planning, Friends.
