5 Ways to Save Money on Merchandise at Disney World
I love purchasing Disney Park items. I have never regretted any of my Disney Park merchandise buys. In all honesty, I more often regretted NOT buying something. But, it can be very easy to get carried away when you’re at Disney World. When you’re surrounded by guests wearing Minnie Ears, sporting Mickey shirts and carrying Disney Dooney & Bourke purses. There are ways that you can save money on merchandise at Disney World. I’ve put together a list of 5 ways you can save money while shopping at Walt Disney World.
Do Returns

Just because you buy something does not mean you have to keep it. You can easily return items at your resort’s gift shop. So, buy what you think you would like and then take stock before the end of your trip. Only keep the things that you really want. Just be sure to hold onto the receipts.
Shop the Character Warehouse

Orlando Premium Outlets are a stones throw away from Walt Disney World property. It’s here you’ll find the Character Warehouse, home to discounted Disney park merchandise. Products that are out of season or out of date or just didn’t sell, end up here for a fraction of the original price. They’ve even kept the original price tag on the items so you can see how much you’re saving. We try to do our shopping here at the beginning of our vacation so we don’t overspend at the parks.
Hunt

There are marked down items to be found at the parks. The most common places I’ve found sale items are in the World Showcase pavilion shops. Each of the World Showcase pavilions has shops that feature products from those countries. But they also sell Disney World Showcase Park Items. These don’t sell very well, as many guests don’t go into every shop. It’s in these stores where I have found apparel, mugs and housewares for cheap.
DVC/Annual Passholder Discounts
If you are a DVC member or an Annual Passholder, you can receive discounts at all of the Disney Park shops. Some shops have a larger discount than others but they all give you a discount. Simply show your membership card and a piece of id.
Check Signage

There are always deals to be had at the big Disney Park stores, like the Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. and the World of Disney at Disney Springs. These deals can be buy one get one free, a cheaper price when you buy a multitude of items, a free gift with purchase.
There are always ways to save, you just have to look for them. For more ideas on saving money on your Disney World vacation take a look at these previous posts:
