5 Reasons to Stay at a Disney World Resort
*Due to the current restrictions due to COVID-19, some of these features may not be available. But they are said to be returning when Disney World returns to regular operations.*
When planning a Disney World vacation, it can be difficult to decide where to stay. Should you stay at one of your favourite brand of hotels in the Orlando area, rent a place or (our favourite option) stay at one of Disney World’s many resorts.
We’ve always chosen to stay at one of the Disney World resorts. Here are 5 reasons we think choosing to stay at a Disney Resort is your best choice.
- Transportation

You save yourself so much time by staying at one of the Disney World resorts. When visiting the four theme parks, you have direct transportation from your resort to the theme park. The transportation leaves from your resort and takes you straight to the park. This saves you time on finding a parking spot, maneuvering around the roads to get to your destination. It’s also going to save you money because you don’t have to pay for the transportation. It’s a free service provided to guests staying at the Disney World resorts. Transportation can be bus transportation, boat transportation, monorail, skyliner and there are even walkways from certain resorts to the theme parks. Disney World resort guests also get to enjoy transportation from the International Orlando Airport to their resort.
2. Customer Service

The customer service found at the Disney resorts, is the same service you receive in the parks. The cast members go above and beyond to ensure you are having a fantastic stay. They are also filled with helpful knowledge on how to make your visit even better. They can help you with adjusting dining reservations, giving you information on the parks and unearthing hidden gems found right at the resort. There have been many a time where a resort cast member has stepped in and turned a down moment into a positive moment for our family. Jumping in to engage with our kids to distract them from the incident at hand. Disney resorts don’t just have concierge services, front desk attendants and housekeepers. They have activity coordinators, creating games and crafts for you and your family to enjoy while visiting the resort. These events take staying at a Disney resort to the level beyond your average hotel.
3. Benefits

Beyond transportation, there are other benefits to staying at Disney World resorts. Guests staying at Disney World resorts have access to Extra Magic Hours. These are extra hours the parks stay open to only Disney World resort park guests. These hours can be before the park opens or after the park closes.
4. Offerings

When guests choose to stay at a Disney World resort, they are giving the choice to add on one of the four dining plans to their vacation package. These plans give guests meal credits to be used at the parks and resorts. The plan is paid for at a flat rate and then the meal credits are to be used at the liberty of the guest. This offers Disney World resort guests the chance to dine at the incredible Disney World restaurants at a fraction of the cost. Guests of Disney World resorts can normally tap in to a reduced ticket price. Choosing one of the Disney World vacation deals that include a resort stay can quite often give guests a park day for free.
5. Design

The Disney World resorts are unlike any other. They are heavily themed, from the outer buildings to the inside of the rooms. From the landscaping to the pools. These designs bring the magic from the parks all the way to your night stay. The magic found at the resorts, lessens the necessity to visit the parks each day of your vacation.
There are Disney World resorts available for each and every budget, whether you’re looking to spend $100 a night or $600 a night, there’s a resort for you. Check out this post on what you get for the different prices of resorts.
