The 5 Biggest Waterslides at Disney World Resorts
Every vacation we spend sometime by the pool. Whether it’s hours by the pool at the resort were staying at or pool hopping, we’ve spent hours upon hours at many of the pools on Walt Disney World property. Now friends, did you know that all Deluxe and Moderate resorts have waterslides at their feature pools. Yes, and some of these waterslides are fantastic! Like water park worthy. So where are these waterslides, well today’s post is all about the 5 biggest waterslides at Disney Resorts.
5. Polynesian Village Resort.
The Polynesian Village resort is a Magic Kingdom resort, located on the monorail, and home to the Disney Vacation Club Bungalows. The Polynesian has two pool areas: the Oasis and the Lava Pool. The waterslide is located at the Lava Pool found just off the main lobby. The waterslide at the Polynesian is 142-foot-long and comes out of a volcano, pretty awesome. Plus you have a fantastic view of the lake, try sliding down the slide while the fireworks are going on, that should make for a magical evening.
4. Saratoga Springs.
Saratoga Springs is a Disney Vacation Club resort with 5 different areas. It’s ranked 2nd on our list of most pools on property. Two of these pools have waterslides but it’s the waterslide at the Paddock Pool that makes this list. The waterslide at the Paddock Pool is 146 feet long. You walk a long winding staircase inside a water tower and then slide down into the awaiting pool. This was my husband’s, Jeff, 2nd favourite waterslide on our last vacation.
3. Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort.
Bay Cove Pool is Bay Lake’s one and only pool, but guests have access to the Contemporary’s main pool. I’m guessing they won’t be running over there when they realize their waterslide is the 3rd biggest on property. The waterslide at Bay Lake is 148-feet long. Friends, it’s been years since I’ve slid this slide so I can’t remember the intensity but I do know it’s a very cool looking slide. It’s got a big mickey mouse displayed on it. Classic!
2. Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Grand Floridian is home to two pools and one of them has a 181-foot long waterslide. This pool is located off the beach and has a zero-depth entry. It’s a small pool but makes up for it with its waterslide.
The one to top the list is the Boardwalk’s waterslide found at their Luna Park Pool, it’s 200-feet long. The waterslide looks like a wooden roller coaster ride with the exit coming out of a clown’s mouth. The waterslide is circular, so riders will go around and around and around before exiting the bottom.
Now the waterslide that didn’t make this list that you’d expect would is Stormalong Bay at Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts. In my research I couldn’t find the exact size of the waterslide, I know it’s large. The entry to the waterslide is outside of the pool area and the slide itself goes over a walkway. It has to be one of, if no THE, biggest waterslide at all the Disney resort but I couldn’t say that with any confidence without the data. But it definitely needed to be mentioned because it is a fantastic waterslide and it is definitely long, even if I don’t know exactly how long.
These waterslides are a fantastic bonus to staying at the Moderate and Deluxe resorts. They add fun and excitement to your non-park days spent poolside. Check out all the ones on this list by pool hopping to the different locations. Happy Planning, Friends.
