1 Bedroom Villas at Disney’s Old Key West
Disney’s Old Key West is found in the Disney Springs Resort Area. The resort is set on the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course and has beautiful views of the different holes. Old Key West has numerous buildings set in different neighbourhoods. The buildings are two stories, the second story is only accessible by stairs. You can request a bottom floor room when you confirm your reservation online, get the details for that here. Old Key West hosts deluxe studios, 1 bedroom villas, 2 bedroom villas and 3 bedroom villas. Today’s post is going to go into the nitty gritty details of a 1 bedroom villa.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa during our Disney World vacation in January of this calendar year. We stayed here for 5 nights. We included: myself, my husband, our three kids and my mother-in-law. The room has a bedroom, master bathroom (the one bathroom in the villa), a laundry room and a main living space. All in all there was one bed, one sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair.
When first entering the villa, there’s a small hallway. If you keep going straight you enter the large main living space, if you turn left you’ll head towards the master bedroom. In the main living space there’s a large chair, sofa and love seat. All the seating is angled to face the TV, which is inconspicuously hidden under the kitchens island. The main living space is also home to the open kitchen, which has lots of counter space and cupboards. There’s a full working stove, fridge and dishwasher. The living room also has a large round table, giving you lots of room to enjoy breakfast before your day on the golf course or at the parks. This room has lots of windows and has patio doors which lead out onto the private patio or balcony. One of the things I loved about this space was the eating area. There was so much space, we weren’t the least bit squished. In other 1 bedrooms we’ve stayed in, the table is closely located against the wall. In these villas the table is no where near a wall. It’s next to the patio doors and a bar area.
The other hallway off of the entrance leads to the master bedroom, but the first room off the hallway is the laundry room. This room has a washer and a dryer, iron and ironing board. There was even room to iron in the room. In all other villas we’ve stayed in, there’s a laundry closet, not a laundry room.
The master bedroom was large and spacious. A king size bed takes up most of the room. It’s bookended by bed side tables. A comfortable chair and ottoman is station in the corner of the room. The room has a large bureau which has a TV atop. The room also has a patio door leading out to the patio or balcony, depending on which level you’re on.
The master bathroom is off of the master bedroom. There’s a door for the master bedroom but you must use this door to gain access to the bathroom. The main space of the bathroom has a soaker tub, and a vanity with sink and mirror.
The toilet and shower are separate from this bathroom space, and they are separated by a door. In this space there’s the toilet, stand up shower and another vanity. These two spaces allow for more people to get ready at once. But it does make it tricky for privacy.
We have stayed in four other 1 bedroom villas at Walt Disney World: Animal Kingdom Kidani Village, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn & Villas, Disney’s Saratoga Springs and Boulder Ridge at Wilderness Lodge. This villa was by far the largest. And it also cost the least amount of points. We will definitely return here again, the room gave so much space for our family and the resort was not as far from the parks as I had expected. The resorts had plenty to do to fill our days without even thinking about going to the parks and dining options that made it easy to stay put. For a full review of the Old Key West resort click here.
