Walt Disney World in March 2020

The month of March is a popular time to visit Walt Disney World. With many schools taking Spring Break plenty of families opt to vacation at Walt Disney World. Over the course of the month there is a festival at Epcot that features special food, music and landscaping. There’s also many After Hours events happening at the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, which may alter your plans. Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom

From 8pm until 11pm on March 2nd and 10pm until 1pm on March 9th, after the park closes, guests with these tickets will have three hours at the park with minimal crowds. There are limited tickets sold to the event to keep the numbers down and 25 of the attractions and character experiences are open. Plus you’ll have all the ice cream, popcorn and fountain beverages you can consume. Some of the attractions open are: Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train, Space Mountain, it’s a small world, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise and so many more! The cost is $129 per guest or $95 if you’re an Annual Passholder or DVC member.

March 3rd

DVC Moonlight Magic at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

This event is for Disney Vacation Club members and their guests only. Tickets to this highly sought after event are complimentary to members who can get their hands on them. For tips on getting these event passes check out this previous post here. The event runs from 9pm until midnight but guests are allowed access to the park at 7pm. Throughout the event guests will have the run of the park with special character meet and greet, complimentary snacks and drinks, a DJ dance party and many of the best attractions will be open to ride with minimal wait times.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Another festival on Epcot’s Festival list. This festival has been going on for 26 years. You can expect beautiful topiaries all around the park. Many are shaped and created to resemble some of your favourite characters. This festival has escalated to include special dining and entertainment. Here’s what you can expect:

Outdoor Kitchens

Epcot again uses their kiosks found throughout World Showcase to add unique dining to this festival. These are used for Festival of the Arts as well as the Food & Wine Festival in the Fall. You’ll find samples of entrees, desserts and beverages, highlighting unique and special flavours of the country represented. Try a few or them all, using some dining plan snack credits along the way.

Interactive Play Areas

There are three interactive play areas at this year’s festival. One found outside Test Track featuring Gardens inspired by Cars. Another is found at Imagination Walkway with a net walk way and a musical maze. Lastly, theirs a how-to garden on the Western side of Future World where visitors can create their own butterfly home. All these things are great for littles who are too small to enjoy some of the more exciting rides.

Garden Rocks Concert Series

Each night of this festival features a performance by a band or singer. The groups vary from favourite groups from each era. The concert is at the American Gardens Theatre at The Great American Adventure. Performances are at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8:00pm.

March 4th and 5th. Peabo Bryson. R&B and Soul Singer.

March 6th-9th. The Orchestra with ELO. Rock Band.

March 10th-12th. The Guess Who. Canadian Rock Band.

Garden Rocks Dining Package

Enjoy reserved seating for one of the three Garden Rocks shows with this dining package. Purchase this package, choose from one of the four restaurants and then watch the nightly show. You can choose to dine at lunch, dinner or breakfast (where available). The package includes appetizer, entree and dessert or the buffet (where applicable). The restaurants offered this year are Garden Grill Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, Biergarten Restaurant and Rose & Crown Pub & Restaurant.

Gardens of the World

Spend three hours of your day at Epcot with a Disney Horticulturist. They’ll teach you techniques to create beautiful gardens at home. They’ll guide you around World Showcase sharing their knowledge of what makes each of the gardens and topiaries unique. There’s an 85 dollar cost above and beyond your park day pass. The tour runs from 9am until noon on select weekdays. Contact (407) WDW-TOUR if you wish to reserve your spot.

English Tea Garden

Another event to take in during this festival is this special free tour found in the United Kingdom pavilion. This tour lasts 20 minutes in the United Kingdom Pavilion. They are held on Mondays through Thursdays at 3:30pm and 5pm. They also hold them at 1pm, 3:30pm and 5pm on Friday through Saturday. Your guide will point out the tea-flavouring plants found throughout this display that are placed appropriately in tea cup saucers. On 20 guests are taken at a time so be sure to register when the pavilion opens at 11am. You can register at The Tea Caddy gift shop.

Royal Garden Tea Tour

This daily tour begins at 9:45am, also in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Enjoy a sampling of tea and scones and discover the beautiful gardens of the United Kingdom. A tour guide will give you in depth details of what can be found in the display surrounding the pavilion. The tour will end with a stop at The Tea Caddy for your refreshments. Cost is $20 per guest and requires park admission. It is recommend to call and reserve ahead of time at (407) WDW-TOUR

Disney After Hours at Animal Kingdom

From 9:00pm until midnight, guests who purchased these Disney After Hours tickets have exclusive access to the Animal Kingdom theme park. With the attractions at Pandora open, Everest and DINOSAUR, there is plenty to do during the three hour open time. Throughout your time at Animal Kingdom you’ll have all you care to enjoy ice cream, popcorn, and fountain beverages. There will also be a special showing of Rivers of Light and the Tree of Life Awakenings will also be on display. The event costs $129 per guest ahead of time or $95 for DVC members and annual pass holders. Guests can actually gain access to the park at 7:00pm, giving you two more hours of play time in this theme park.

Disney Villains take over Disney’s Magic Kingdom at this special ticketed event. Guest with these tickets will be in store for a frightful evening with a special stage show featuring Hades, Maleficent and Jafar. There’s special delicious snacks for purchase, minimal wait times on 20 attractions, and Maleficent the dragon will be trolling the park. The cost for this event is $145 and begins at 9pm, although guests can gain access to the park at 7pm.

AAU Volleyball Classic

This volleyball tournament is for girls’ volleyball teams 10U-18U. This is open to any all and teams. So gather up your team and head down to the most magical place on earth to compete.

The Quest Recreational Championship

This event is a highly competitive end of the season event for rec and cheer teams. Teams found at this championship have earned their spot here from competitions throughout the season.

March 14th-15th

International All-Star Championship

This is a show like no other. With dance and cheer teams from all over the world competing. From aged 6 to 18. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will be packed with budding stars and competitors. Come, watch, bring ear plugs.
