Walt Disney World uses an umbrella term when talking about rides, they term them attractions. Now on their website and on the My Disney Experience app what falls under this terms goes beyond rides. At Epcot, attractions include Kidcot Fun Stops and Galleries. At the Animal Kingdom, attractions include the different animal viewing spots found around the park. These are not rides. So the Disney World website is going to have a different number in regards to “attractions” then is going to be looked at here. For the purpose of this post we’re going to deem a ride as something that moves. So this will not include shows such as Mickey’s Phillarmagic found at Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland or Muppet’s 3D found at Hollywood Studios.
The Disney World Theme Park with the most rides is: Magic Kingdom. According to my calculations, the Magic Kingdom is home to 20 different rides. Putting it far above the other three parks found at Walt Disney World. Epcot has 9 rides, Animal Kingdom has 8 and Hollywood Studios only has 6. I find this piece of information so key because many people think that the Magic Kingdom is just for young kids, when it’s really for everyone. With 20 rides, there’s lots of rides for everyone in your party. For the thrill seekers, there’s Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. For younger children, there’s The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Mad Tea Party and it’s a small world. As you’d expect with this many attractions, it’s hard to fit them into one visit. So don’t. Pick the ones you Must Do and if you get to do more then that’s a bonus. The number of rides are going to change at two parks in the coming years with the addition of Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios and a couple new rides coming to Epcot. But it will take a lot of additions to the other parks to get to the amount that’s found at the Magic Kingdom. Here is a list of all the rides found at the Magic Kingdom by the area of the park:
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Mad Tea Party
The Many Adventure of Winnie The Pooh
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Under the Sea-The Journey of the Little Mermaid
Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Peter Pan’s Flight
it’s a small world
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Pirate of the Caribbean
The Magic Carpet of Aladdin
Happy Planning, Friends.
