September Vacationers

September is a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World. With kids back to school crowds are much smaller. The weather is still very warm so you can be sure that you’ll want to spend time in your resort pool or head to one of the water parks. In September you can indulge in the Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival and head to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Click on the dates you’ll be heading to Disney to find what you can expect during your stay.

Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival

Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival is back for another year. If this is your first time experiencing this fantastic festival than you’re in for a delicious discovery. This festival features special events, including the ones listed below, and the Global Marketplace.The Global Marketplace is found all around World Showcase, enjoy a variety of tasty treats and snack size entrees from a variety of different countries. Make sure to grab a map at the Festival headquarters to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the offerings. 

This year will bring more for every member of your family to do. There will be a specially designed playground for little ones to enjoy, a Disney Dance Party on Friday and Saturday evenings featuring a variety of Disney characters, on Sunday’s kids can participate in a Junior Chef event where they can create their own meals. Lastly, families can participate in a hide n seek scavenger hunt for Ratatouille’s Remy, he’s hidden all around the festival.  For daily information, seminars and demos guests can head to the Festival Centre. Located just passed Mission Space in Epcot’s Future World.

Head to the American Pavilion on any night during the Food & Wine Festival and find some fantastic live music. Featuring some of your favourite new and old artists, performances are at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm. Check out your dates to see who will be playing.

Sunday Brunch with the Chef

Each Sunday morning during the festival, guests can enjoy a wonderful buffet style brunch while getting tips and tricks from a celebrity chef. The cost is $129 dollars, the event lasts two hours, and the meal includes wine. The event runs from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Check the dates for the Chef being featured during your trip.

September 2nd: Richard Blais. Famous from Top Chef

September 9th: Jamie Deen. Co-owner of The Lady and Sons restaurant

Food & Beverage Pairings at Festival Welcome Centre

One of the most reasonably priced events during the festival are these food & beverage pairings. For only $25 per guest you can learn the best ways to pair food & wine. You’ll get to sample the dish prepared and the drink. This special event takes place Friday through Sunday at 2:30pm. Check out your dates for which chefs are being featured.

2018 Epcot Food & Wine Festival – Eat to the Beat Dining Package

Receive special concert seating when you choose to reserve your dining with the Eat to the Beat Dining Package. You won’t have to worry about grabbing a seat for the festival’s concert you’ll have reserved seating. You can dine at any of these 15 restaurants at Epcot, each restaurant has a different cost, as well as a different cost for each meal. When dining on this special package guests will receive an appetizer, entree and dessert as well as a non-alcoholic beverage. If the restaurant you choose is a buffet restaurant you get to enjoy the buffet. Here are your choices:

Back for another year, join Mickey and some of your favourite villains for a special Halloween Party. Guests will get to go treat or treating throughout the many lands of the Magic Kingdom, watch the special Halloween stage show, meet and greet their favourite Disney characters many dressed in special Halloween costumes. The cost for this event ranges from $75 to $79. The nights of the Halloween Party, Magic Kingdom closes early to other guests. With a ticket you can enter the park a few hours before the party’s official start. As soon as the party starts, other guests must leave the park. So if you’re not attending the party be sure to pick your Magic Kingdom day for another day during your vacation. 

August 31st-September 3rd

Disney Labor Day Baseball Classic

Sad that your baseball season is almost over? Not to worry. Head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to compete in your biggest event of the season. Teams age range from 8U-16U and is open to boys teams only. Any team from anywhere can register for this weekend tournament. 

September 1st-3rd

Disney Soccer Showcase Qualifier

This event qualifies teams for competition happening later on in the season. The competition is high, making it great entertainment. Team age groups are U15-U19, both girls and boys. Check out this competition during your stay at Walt Disney World.

DVC Moonlight Magic at Hollywood Studios

On Wednesday September 19th DVC members will have exclusive access to Hollywood Studios. From closing until the early hours of the morning Disney Vacation Club members will have the run of Hollywood Studios. Eating lots of complimentary treats, meeting rare to see characters and riding the new attractions at Toy Story Land. Guests visiting Hollywood Studios that night may notice other guests wearing special bracelets. Those guests are DVC members who have access to this special event. Registration for DVC members with hotel reservations as of August 28th can register on August 30th. Disney After Hours-Magic Kingdom

Have Magic Kingdom to yourselves on August 4th. With the purchase of a Disney After Hours ticket, you’ll have access to Magic Kingdom with minimal crowds. The majority of the attractions will be opening as well as special character experiences. From 10pm until 1am guests with Disney After Hours tickets will be able to run around Magic Kingdom and enjoy ice cream bars, popcorn and drinks, included in admission. Prices for these special event tickets are $124 per adult/child or  $89 per adult/child if you’re a DVC member or an Annual Passholder.

Whether you’re looking to do an extra special event or planning on taking in some of the offerings already available during your time at Epcot. Consider what’s going on during your days at the park, you may want to think about changing one of your park days to see your favourite artist or meet your favourite chef.
