November 2019 at Disney World

November, the month that marks the beginning of the holiday season. And if you’re visiting Walt Disney World during this time you have so many ways celebrate Christmas. During the month of November you can check out the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Christmas fireworks display at Hollywood Studios. You can still enjoy the tail end of Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival or check out the 10th annual Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Whatever you choose, adding these events to your itinerary could make your vacation memorable.

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

runDisney‘s Wine & Dine Half Marathon

This whole weekend is filled with races, kids races and a race expo. Some events take place throughout Walt Disney World and others take place simply at ESPN Wide World of Sports. If you are planning a park day on Sunday morning just be aware that traffic will be moving a little slower than normal because of race tear down.

Race Expo

October 31st-November 2nd, at a variety of times, ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex is the place for race participants and volunteers to pick up their race kits. It’s also here where you’ll find exclusive race merchandise as well as a number of specialty retailers from all over the country offering you one of a kind products. There’s also a speakers series featuring athletics ready to give advice on race day and running in general. It’s a fantastic event to attend whether you’re racing the event or not. All resorts have transportation to the Race expo.

Fall Fest 5k

Early in the morning on November 1st, racers will be running 5k through the Animal Kingdom (if it’s the same route as last year). The race takes place at 5:30am so you don’t have to be worried about this event affecting your day at the parks. This event is sold out but you can register to volunteer.

Wine & Dine 10k

On Saturday, the 10k event begins at the Magic Kingdom and finishes at Epcot, but again the event starts at 5:30am so you can be sure that the roads will be clear by the time you’re making your way to the Magic Kingdom. The only thing I would be leery of is if you have an early morning breakfast reservation. Buses will definitely be a little later or be taking a little longer, so be sure to give yourself lots of time to make your reservation time. The race does run along the Boardwalk so if you’re staying on Crescent Lake you’ll be able to cheer for the participants.

Kids Races

The only event not sold out are the kids races. Taking place throughout the day on Saturday, your little can participate no matter what their age. There’s a 100m dash, 200m dash, diaper dash and a 1 mile run. So you can have the whole family participate. All of these races take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Wine & Dine Half Marathon

This half marathon is going to take racers through Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The event begins at 5:30am but because of the length of the event and the staggered start times you can expect your morning to be delayed. Of all the parks to go to this day it would be the Magic Kingdom because the race does not take place in this park. The event is sold out but you can cheer on participants at the Boardwalk Inn as they finish up the final miles of their race. The race takes place on Sunday morning.

Post-Race Party

Race participants and their fellow guests can head to Epcot for the Post-Race Party. The event is $84 and officially starts at 10pm but party goers can enter the park at 5pm. All of Future World is open as well as a number of pavilions. Giving racers the chance to ride rides with minimal wait times, meet rare characters and celebrate their achievement. The party goes until 1pm. Those who participate in the half and the challenge get entry into this party included with their entry fee.
