With 163 attractions found at Walt Disney World and 128 forms of entertainment, it can be hard to choose which are must do’s for your vacation. There’s just SO much! If you’re a fan of the Lion King films then there are 3 things you’ll want to make sure you do during your days at Disney.
Festival of the Lion King
This stage show features performances of the award winning music from the Lion King film. The show features acrobatics, fire breathing, aerialists and broadway caliber choreography. The show is a half hour in length and performed every hour at the top of the hour. You can actually FastPass this show, which gives you reserved seating.
Rafiki’s Planet Watch
Take the Wildlife Express to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where you can pet animals, visit the animal hospital but more importantly meet Rafiki himself. You can find him inside the conservation station throughout the day starting at 10:15am until around 4:30pm.
In Fantasyland is a fantastic 3D show that features Donald Duck magically going through many Disney film musical numbers chasing Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat. One of these numbers is “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King”. This attraction is open from park open until park close. And you can choose to get a FastPass, although I wouldn’t recommend it because the theatre houses so many guests you shouldn’t have a problem getting in.
Those are the four things you’ll find at Walt Disney World that highlight the Lion King. The best of the these is The Festival of the Lion King. It’s a high energy show with audience participation. Perfect for every age.
One other spot I would sneak in a visit to is the Art of Animation Resort. This value resort has larger than life statues of the Lion King characters, as well as the elephant graveyard for your kids to run around in. Make a morning or afternoon out of it by grabbing some great photos, do some shopping and eat a meal at their quick service restaurant.
Happy Planning, Friends.
