Must-Do’s for Frozen Fans
Frozen is a story and films for the ages. With characters and songs that are on the hearts of many. The love of this tale inspired a whole new ride in Disney’s Epcot and a stage show in Hollywood Studios. If you have someone in your party who loves the film Frozen and its characters, here are all the things you don’t want to miss. From entertainment to shopping, I’ve compiled a list of Disney vacation must do’s for the Frozen fan.
The most popular Walt Disney World park doesn’t have any attractions or character experiences tailored to Frozen fans but Anna and Elsa are featured in a couple of things found around the Magic Kingdom.
Festival of Fantasy Parade
Once a day, the Festival of Fantasy Parade tours through the Magic Kingdom. On the very first float is Anna and Elsa with a little tiny Olaf. So you need to be stationed for the beginning of the parade to be able to witness these Frozen characters. The parade begins in Frontierland and ends at the entrance of Main St U.S.A.. You can actually grab a FastPass for this parade, the viewing spot is at the entrance of Main St U.S.A. The parade happens every afternoon around 3pm, double check your My Disney Experience app or your time sheet for the exact time on the day of your visit. Check out our favourite place to watch this parade.
Mickey’s Friendship Faire
Throughout the day, check out this stage show in front of Cinderella’s Castle. It features Anna, Elsa and Olaf, along with characters from Tangled and Princess and the Frog. Mickey and Minnie host this cast of characters for a special celebration. Elsa performs Let It Go with special effects. It’s a beautiful performance with the vocals prerecorded by Idina Menzel. It’s truly not to be missed for Frozen fans. The show is performed five times a day. Typically, 10:30am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2pm and 4:15pm. Double check the times sheet.
This whole area of Epcot was redone a few years ago to focus on Frozen. From the gift shops, to the art, to the attractions. You’ll want to spend a few hours of your day in this part of Epcot to get your Frozen fix. Norway Pavilion is found in the World Showcase, the second country if you’re making your way around clockwise. This pavilion actually opens at 9am with the park.
Frozen Ever After
This flume ride is for the whole family. Walking the line to get on this ride you’ll take a journey through Arendelle including a stop at Oaken Trading Post. The flume ride travels to Elsa’s castle, where she’ll sing Let It Go. It’s extremely popular so be sure to grab a FastPass or bee line here at park open.
Anna and Elsa Character Experience
You can meet both Anna and Elsa, one right after the other in the Norway Pavilion. Waiting in line for this character experience, you’ll see some fun pieces of art that are scenes of Anna and Elsa’s childhood. You’ll first meet Anna and then Elsa is immediately after. They’re in the same room but you have to have your pictures taken separately. Make your picture extra special by having your kids wearing their Frozen apparel.
When you exit your character experience you’ll walk into the Wandering Reindeer, the ultimate Frozen shop. Here you’ll find apparel for men, women and children. You’ll also find plush toys, dolls, costumes, accessories and toys. The shop is open from 9am until 9pm. You can also gain entry to this store from the sidewalk.
Olaf Character Experience
Meet this larger than life version of Olaf, in his dream spot, the beach. Now Olaf can’t give you a signature but you can get a great photo. There’s no FastPasses for this meet and greet so you can expect quite the wait for this character meet and greet. You’ll find this location on Commissary Lane, across from Star Tours.
For the First Time in Forever: Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
This is one of my favourite things at Hollywood Studios, it’s a stage show that retells the story of Frozen with two citizens of Arendelle. The audience is encouraged to sing along as your favourite tunes are played on the large screen. Throughout the stage show you’ll see Anna, Kristoff and of course Elsa appears closer to the end of the performance. This theatre is huge, so it hosts lots of guests but you can grab a FastPass if you don’t want to wait in line just to get turned away. The show is half an hour, the first one is at 10:30am and then they perform every hour until 7:30pm. This stage show is found on Commissary Lane across from Echo Lake.
Frozen Fractal Gifts
This is a small little shop but it’s got the gifts your Frozen fan will love. I found the BEST dress for our daughter her last January that I would never have found anywhere else. It’s pink and poofy, with a sparkly vest and Elsa on the front. In the shop is all kinds of apparel, toys, books, everything Frozen. It’s found at the exit of For the First Time in Forever: Frozen Sing-Along Celebration or you can find it across from Oasis Canteen. It’s open from 9am until 8pm.
You can jam all these Frozen things into one day by park hopping to all these three parks or spread out the Frozen magic throughout your whole vacation. Happy Planning, Friends.
