Magic Kingdom Parade Route

As of right now there are two parades that take place at the Magic Kingdom during the regular season. If you’re visiting during one of the seasonal parties there are parades to coincide with this event. The two parades at the Magic Kingdom is the Festival of Fantasy Parade and the Move It! Shake It! Dance It! Street Party. These two parades are very different. The Festival of Fantasy Parade happens once per day, where as the other parade takes place a couple times a day. The Festival of Fantasy Parade is constantly moving. The Move It! Shake It! parade stops in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Characters and performers disembark from the floats and dance with guests. These two parades also take two different routes, which means you can’t station yourself at the same spot for either parade.

Festival of Fantasy Parade

The Festival of Fantasy Parade begins in Frontierland, goes through Liberty Square, around the courtyard in front of Cinderella’s Castle, down Main Street U.S.A., around the courtyard there and then exits beside Harmony’s Barber Shop. It takes approximately 15 minutes for the beginning of the parade to get from the Frontierland entrance to the Main Street U.S.A. exit. If you’re seated at Main Street U.S.A. you’ll see the parade 15 minutes after it starts. If you are wanting to avoid the parade then this is the ideal time to be in Tomorrowland, Adventureland or Fantasyland. If you find yourself on the parade route during the parade the crowds are much denser and it’s harder to get to your desired destination. Our favourite place to watch this parade is in front of Ye Old Christmas Shoppe, across from Sleepy Hollow. When trying to choose a spot to watch the parade, make sure the sun is not in your eyes. And grab a snack to keep your kids distracted while you’re waiting for the parade to come by.

Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party

This street party stops in front of Cinderella’s Castle. It starts at the Harmony Barber Shop and makes its way down Main Street U.S.A. but you want to be stationed in front of Cinderella’s Castle to be able to participate in the interactions that go along with this parade. Any spot in front of the castle, around the courtyard is fine. If you see a character on top of one of the floats that your child loves then make your way closer to that float. This way your child will get some special dancing time with this character. Check your times guide for the day of your visit to confirm when the street party actually takes place.

These parades are a fun part of your day at the Magic Kingdom. The floats and costumes in the Festival of Fantasy Parade are festive and colourful. And you’ll see plenty of familiar faces. It’s your only chance to see many characters during your day at the Magic Kingdom. For more posts to help you plan your day at the Magic Kingdom check out these previous posts:
