July Vacationers 2019

It’s officially summer, which means kids are off from school and you’re ready for some rest and relaxation. So why not make your way to the most magical place on earth. July is a popular month for vacationers. It falls into the second busiest season of the year. So you can expect lots of visitors so plan those FastPasses wisely. With the opening of Galaxy’s Edge at the beginning of September the numbers may down but you should go expecting it to be busy. Throughout the whole month of July you can head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports to check out a basketball game and you can also register your child for one of their IdeaSport Summer Camps. July features lots of special ticketed events which can affect your day at any of the parks so take a look at your dates below and make sure you well aware of all that is happening at Walt Disney World during your vacation.

Disney International Salute to Baseball

This event has open registration for teams ages 8 and under to 18 and under. Many teams come from all over to celebrate July 4th right at Walt Disney World with some baseball games.

Independence Day Treats

As with any special occasion, Independence Day will be marked at Walt Disney World with special treats scattered around the resort. Keep your eyes out for special cupcakes, special ice creams and other delicacies at each of the theme parks, the resort quick-service restaurants and the American Pavilion in Epcot.

Disney Villains After Hours

This special event happens at the Magic Kingdom. From 10pm until 1pm, Villains take over the Magic Kingdom. With 20 attractions open for your enjoyment and a special villain stage show you won’t regret paying the $139 entry fee. Guests for this event can actually gain entry at 7pm. So you’ll have 6 hours to spend at the park, and only so many tickets are sold so you know they’ll be short wait times. Ice Cream, popcorn and soda is included in the price of this event.

Early Morning Magic at Toy Story Land

Purchase tickets for this early morning magic event at Hollywood Studios to give your exclusive early access to Toy Story Land. The event begins at 7:30am, an hour and a half before the park opens. The three rides located here are yours to explore. And you’ll have a chance to meet Buzz, Woody and Jessie. You have to have admission to the park as well as a ticket to the event to gain entry. A breakfast is also included in this event. Help yourself to pastries, yogurt, fruit and a breakfast entree. The cost of the event is $79 per adult and $69 per child.

The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! Concert Series

In Epcot, Star Lord and Gamora will hosting a concert series featuring songs from Star-Lord’s mixtapes. “Hooked on a Feeling”, “Go All the Way” and “Spirit in the Sky” are sure to be among them. The concert happens 5 times a day at the American Pavilion theatre. Check your daily times guide on the day of your visit.

Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

From 9:00pm until midnight, guests who purchased these Disney After Hours tickets have exclusive access to the Animal Kingdom theme park. With the attractions at Pandora open, Everest and DINOSAUR, there is plenty to do during the three hour open time. Throughout your time at Animal Kingdom you’ll have all you care to enjoy ice cream, popcorn, and fountain beverages. There will also be a special showing of Rivers of Light and the Tree of Life Awakenings will also be on display. The event costs $125 per guest ahead of time or $95 for DVC members and annual pass holders. Guests can actually gain access to the park at 7:00pm, giving you two more hours of play time in this theme park.

Independence Day Dessert Party Disney Vacation Club

DVC members will experience a special independence day dessert party at the Contemporary Resort on July 3rd. Live music will be playing while members play carnival games, watch the special Independence Day fireworks and take pictures with Disney characters in their patriotic attire.

Disney’s Celebrate America!

July 4th may be Independence Day, but on both the 3rd and the 4th you can expect to see the epic fireworks show that happens every year at the Magic Kingdom. Watch them from inside the park or head to the many places you can witness them without paying park admission.

H20 Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

From 8pm to 11pm, your favourite characters from Toy Story will be hosting a party at Typhoon Lagoon. Rex is said to be your master of ceremonies, tunes will be blasting and the park will be a glow. Special food and drink offerings will be available to party goers and there will be a special adults only area. With the late open time of this special event, you could sneak this event after a day at the Animal Kingdom. Especially with its close proximity. Prices for this special event at $59 per adult and $54 per child. DVC members receive at 6 dollar discount. 

July 4th-6th

AAU Primary National Championships

This championship event is for athletes 8 years old and younger. You’ll see track & field events from every category. Should be a very entertaining event.

For athletes ranging from primary to high school, this championship has mostly team events. It’s another opportunity for these athletes to qualify for the Junior Olympic Games.

This sport is a form of soccer, it’s inside on a gym floor. This tournament is for teams ranging in ages from 8 to 18.
