It is finally here! Galaxy’s Edge, the expansion at Hollywood Studios is just days away, some lucky visitors have already had sneak peeks. Galaxy’s Edge is a new area of Hollywood Studios that will put guests in the centre of the Star Wars universe. With plenty of shops, eateries and a couple attractions, Galaxy’s Edge should be a Star Wars fan’s dream come true. There’s already been huge positive reviews on the Galaxy’s Edge already opened in California. There is expected to be droves of guests heading to Hollywood Studios over the next few months to check out this new addition. It has already been released that only a certain amount of guests can enter the area at a time, which means entry into Hollywood Studios does not guarantee one entry into Galaxy’s Edge.
There is one way that you can stack your deck. When staying at any of the Disney resorts in September and October you can enjoy extra magic hours at Hollywood Studios. These extra magic hours are being offered every single morning and they are for 3 hours. From 6am until 9am, guests staying at one of the Disney resorts get the run of Hollywood Studios. This means an extremely early morning but if you really want to get into Galaxy’s Edge this may be your best bet.
Now which resorts receive this perk, more than you’d expect. Any of the Disney World resorts get this benefit, also guest staying at Shades of Green, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, Disney Springs resort area hotels, Four Seasons Resort Hotel, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando. The buses run 45 minutes before the extra magic hours begin, so you can hop on that bus at 5:15am. Or if you’r staying on Crescent Lake you can simply walk or grab the boat. Those staying at one of the Skyline resorts will also have that option once they open this new mode of transportation. Even with the excitement of this new area I don’t believe you’ll see as many people lining up at 6am as you would at 8am. Maybe in the first couple days of Galaxy’s Edge but once the first few days pass I think heading to the park for the 6am Extra Magic Hours is going to be worth the extra effort. Hopefully these early hours will be such a success that they’ll continue them through November and December. Stay tuned.
