Disney Vacation Club: Member Benefits

Having a place on Disney property to call your own for fifty years (or 48, depending on which contract you purchase) is gift enough. The guarantee that you’ll continue returning to Disney year after year to experience all your old favourites and the new improvements and additions. Disney Vacation Club is beyond a time-share company though. It’s not just about using your points to stay on site. DVC is continuously creating new ways to reward their members and show them how much they appreciate their loyalty and investment. These may not be reasons to purchase a DVC membership but it is certainly a welcomed perk. Today’s post is going to give you an overview of some of the many special things members get to enjoy. Now please don’t take this as my way of showing off what we have. I want to let you in on all the exciting things that come along with membership, in hopes that you can make a sound decision on whether purchasing a package with DVC is right for you and your family.

Dining.

Members receive a discounted rate on the dining plan. Part of the reason for this is because we don’t get to enjoy the free dining plan offered to many guests of the fall months. It’s not a huge discount but it is appreciated. For the 2017 dining plan DVC guests were charged $67.33 per night instead of the normal $69.35 per night. Giving you a 15 dollar savings over a seven day vacation. If you’re planning on paying out of pocket for your dining experiences you see even bigger discounts ranging from 10% to 30% off selected restaurants.

Shopping.

Discounts range from shop to shop and park to park but generally speaking you can get 10% off by showing your DVC membership card. Now until the end of December there’s a special DVC shopping day at Disney Springs where many shops offer freebies with a minimal purchase or an above average discount.

Tickets.

Special event tickets have a discount applied to members. Such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The discounted price is offered at the beginning of the season and not available for the last week of either party but you do receive $5 off. Planning on enjoying one of the many tours available on Walt Disney World property? There are discounts found here as well. 15% off is the standard.

Recreation.

Whatever you are planning on doing for your non-park days while visiting Walt Disney World expect to enjoy it at a lesser rate. From Golfing to Water sports, Miniature Golf to Spa treatments.

Members Events and Areas.

Disney Vacation Club offers events throughout the year for members to enjoy, some with a cost but some are complimentary. All exclusively enjoyed by members. This year DVC has hosted Moonlight Magic events at the Magic Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and the Animal Kingdom. There are still events coming up at Epcot and Disneyland. There are currently two member areas on Walt Disney World property, one is the Top of the World Lounge. The Top of the World Lounge is found on the top floor of Bay Lake Tower. Offering spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom resort area. Open only to members, it’s a spectacular place to watch the fireworks on a non-park day. The other member areas is found in Epcot in the Journey to Imagination building. This lounge allows guests to unwind, and recharge their batteries: figurative and literal. The best part about these two places is they are a great place to connect with other members. Getting ideas of places to go and things to try. These events and areas show that Disney Vacation Club is far beyond a time-share company.

These are truly only a few of the special offerings by being a member. I didn’t even touch on the DVC Member cruise or the small things that cast members do above and beyond on every single trip. For those of you who are already DVC members, I hope this is a reminder of all the benefits going on right now for us. It can so easily slip your mind when there is so much to see and do right now at Disney Parks. Those of you who are on the fence about whether to purchase or not. I’m telling you, becoming a DVC member is becoming a part of the Disney family. They will make sure you will never regret making such an investment in them. Happy Planning Friends.
