Disney Springs Homecomin’
We love discovering restaurants at Walt Disney World. We spend lots of time researching new and old dining options found at the four theme parks, resorts and Disney Springs. My hubby and I both pick a must try restaurant for each of our vacations. Maybe it’s a restaurant we want to go to for the very first time or one we want to return to. This is how we found this gem of a spot at Disney Springs: Homecomin’. It was Jeff’s must try on our vacation last August, our epic Deluxe Dining Plan vacation.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is located in The Landing of Disney Springs. Chef Art Smith was formerly Oprah’s chef and cooks up a delicious variety of southern fare. You’ve got fried chicken, short ribs, pork chops and of course biscuits. The dessert menu is stacked with cake, cake, more cake oh wait and pie. During the week, Homecomin’ serves lunch and dinner. You can indulge in their brunch offering on the weekends. Homecomin’ has a large patio, lounge area and main dining area. There’s only 200 seats, not giving too many places to sit. Making grabbing a reservation here strongly recommended.
On our vacation last August we had appetizers, entrees and desserts. Each was so delicious! I would love to get back here sometime next year. For apps, Jeff had the hush puppies and I had the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits. They are lush with flavours and not the least bit greasy. For our entrees I had a fish that is no longer on the menu and Jeff had Art’s Famous Fried Chicken. My fish came along with pureed carrots. I still dream about these carrots. They were so sweet, I could have sworn they were sweet potatoes. I ended leaving most of my fish and eating all the carrots.
Jeff’s chicken came along with a biscuit and mac and cheese. For desserts, each day there is a new dessert. There’s also desserts they make each and every day. There’s pecan pie, chocolate cake, hummingbird cake and doughnuts.
On our visit I had the key lime pie which was featured that day and Jeff had the hummingbird cake. These were very good but we were so full from all the other food we enjoyed. So keep in mind when you’re dining here that the food is plentiful and filling. If you’re not dining on the dining plan you may want to order off the appetizer menu, which gives you plenty of food as it is.
The drink menu is something to spend time looking over. With 15 cocktails on the menu, you’ll want to think about which will best suit your meal. Be careful, because these are so tasty you won’t even realize how much alcohol is in it.
When we dined here we had stupendous service. Our server really enjoyed her job and our interaction with her enhanced our meal. She was also so kind to give us some drink recipes so we could try to make them at home.
The decor was fun and upbeat and so was the music. The restaurant is located in the heart of Disney Springs. Giving you the perfect destination to sit and dine while taking a break from your shopping or activities. Homecomin’ is certainly one to add to your list to visit. This meal made it to my top five meals of our last vacation. Happy Planning, Friends.
